  1. I once drank wine in an old church in Ohio. It was made into a winery; had great seating and some knock out wines. LOL
  2. Never had the use for one. I've seen the Wallenstein 600 series in action. Believe it's a 7 inch. The anti plug roto is a nice design. Owner stated wishes he went with the hydraulic feed and chute extension for fill trucks. Has it mounted on a DK 65 Kioti tractor. Intellifeed offered on today"s models. I don't know if I would want that or n ot. I like the idea of only maintaining one engine.
  3. Got some Pontiac seed potato"s planted yesterday. Can already taste those salt potatoes. Onions doing well in the ground three weeks. Had to replant the lettuce. Rabbits found it.
  4. My grandfather never got it, but my dad does; go figure. I'm one of the lucky ones that never seem to catch it also. It's not all glory though. Guess who gets the bill for cleaning it out of tree stand trees, LOL. I don't play in it, but when handled, I wash up with my own bar soap. I have my own towels and wash cloths, as other family members catch it from me.
  5. The trees and bushes are growing very well this season. One that has a red berry; one with an orange.
  6. I type this as one just went by obeying the speed limit. They all don't ride'm like a house a fire. Like anything else, their's some that do. I watch two go by the other night quite fast standing on their seats. Now if that wasn't ass a nine.
  7. I can't complain about New York really. If I had to choose, Ohio would be the choice. Not just the hunting , but the state in general.
  8. Got more ground turned over yesterday. No pics yet, as they would be of plowed ground only. Weather permitting, will go in next week and get things worked up for pumpkins, planting June 15th. Figure on other plantings end of July with early oats and radish. My wheat looks great coming into the boot early. The Urea really give it a nice green color Also seeing young clover seedlings.. I did see a Tom turkey in it, which was a pleasant surprise. Believe he's after young grasshoppers. Fawns galore here as usual. Hope everyone's planting thrive this season.
  9. I would say anything smaller than 5/8" grade 5 would bend. That size may not give the digging ability of a smaller diameter without added weight. I'd also want a larger O.D. washer. Where's an engineer when you need them? LOL.
  10. Flaky chips. Caustic soda is added to city water supply to seal leaks. I don't think carbon filters can remove it.
  11. SC are $90/ HR. LOL. Plugged inlet screens would just make the tube fill up slower. Any electrical function happening in the WM. Like motor running, buzzing, humming, Timer clicking?
  12. Well now, don't that beat all. What'ya go and do a thing like that for. I was just adding more butter to my popcorn.
  13. Fine'em $25 and a meal at McDonalds. That'll teach'em.
  14. Crappiest job I had was cleaning out pig pens in high school. Boy. that was hard work. No cab on the tractor and the wind always blew in the wrong direction, LOL. Few months later, went to work for the county highway department and stopped working all together. Card playing was fun though.
  15. Valuable assets are tough to come by, these days.
  16. \ 2018 isn't looking much better at this point.
  17. Cornell has an excellent guide to planting forages on their web site for New York State. They break the state up from north to south. I personally prefer frost seeding all of my legumes except for alfalfa which I direct seed beginning of August when the rains typically kick in. It works out great during a lull in farming, late winter. If planted late spring, highly depended on lower moisture conditions on shallow planted seed , although last summer would have worked great for starting legumes. Trefoil seed has a natural oil coating, that preserves the seed longer. It's a strong legume that withstands extremes. I think you'll like it.
  18. Seen my first fawns on May 2nd here. Not newborn as they moved well. Breeding in October here as witnessed.
  19. I didn't get invited. I can see the wedding, but least they could off done is sent a note for the reception.
  20. In anyone's opinion, what would a 2 year old full mount ruffle grouse mounted on a half log be worth? It's in beautiful shape and really a nice job done. Friend and I can't come up with a fair value. He realizes he won't get near the money invested in the taxidermy. I have never seen one mounted and he kinda grew on me, LOL. Any input is welcomed. One other thing, it's not a NY. grouse.
  21. It's a real problem. The machines have no mercy. I lightly kick into areas where it looks like one could be hiding. The real young ones don't run. Few week old will run a ways, then lie down. Some years are worst than others. My seedings winter killed, so being thinner, hope it's not an issue this season.
