I was g I was going to have a few bourbon tonight but, I can't bear the news of all that waisted whiskey.

That bear would have the sirens flashing on this side of the state. They'd be sending baskets down out of helicopters for student evac's.
-
Why, so we can grin and bear it, LOL.
-
I've felt a little smashed sometimes after drinking one to many bourbon.

The canal festival starts soon in NT.. maybe he wants to be their bear traction.

We have bears here in Niagara County.

Hogweed.

A bear passed me on the 990 today with his lights and siren on, LOL.
-
A good team brings more than 4 grand today, LOL.

I've had the rest, now try the best. I prefer our venison dogs 50% mixed with pork round topped with mustard, ketchup and relish; served with a side of potato salad, macaroni salad, home style baked beans and a nice ice cold Vernors ginger ale. Heaven can wait, LOL.

How Does Your Garden Grow
landtracdeerhunter replied to landtracdeerhunter's topic in General Chit Chat
Put a new shaft in my rototiller Sunday and worked up the entire garden. Plants were just waiting for that rain we had Monday. The entire garden now seems like fast forward with growth. Potatoes are poking through, waiting for the potato beetle and blight to come on. I got more cabbage, broccoli, and cauliflower in for some late season product. Another planting of lettuce and some cherry tomatoes. -
What to plant?

I plant the oat radish mixture end of July. Deer come in hard on the oats when the grain starts to fill. I use to use three plantings, a few acres of oats mid August to early September. They didn't much bother with them through bow season. Then frost-freeze would come and make them totally useless. I tossed things around a little till I found a planting that worked. The radish, this is one planting that will always be on my place, thanks to growalot. -
I quite sure the King buck's rack didn't become non-typical due to 4wd, LOL.

walk behind tiller
landtracdeerhunter replied to moog5050's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
Used this one for three seasons now. All garden work between the rows. Pros: motor runs great and starts on the first pull when choked, plenty of power for 17". Cons: Forward working speed to fast; transport speed to slow; tines are light, gearbox shaft is small( sheared one off ); shear bolt on the tines shear easily, metric; Guards brackets are light and have to be straighten few times a season. Their is no way I would ever use this for food plots. My tractor 3 point hitch version is so much nicer. Maybe it has spoiled me. Boy, the ground looks so much nicer in the picture. LOL. My next tiller will be a BCS, Steiner or Ventrac. I like the Steiner from the seat. Why not spoil oneself, LOL. -
Mice got into my cars wiring harness over the winter. It took some digging but, I found out the loom is made from soybeans.

I like Daikon field radishes mixed with common oats for an all season's draw. I have several acres of legumes, grass mixture, and corn though. What ever you decide, good luck with the plot. -
The Johnny King buck took that tile away from Hanson back in 2013 at 221 6/8" . Hanson's scored 220 and 5/8". Still a beautiful buck in any ones eyes for typical.

Raspberry garden
landtracdeerhunter replied to Jeremy K's topic in DIY - Do It Yourself, tutorials and videos
We use to raise raspberries and blackberries size of a thimble. Lost the raspberry stock to winter kill and could never find anything close. Can't kill the blackberries. Thorns galore. Use to raise pheasants in them.. -
That deer is suffering. Let it gain some weight back, then into the freezer come October 1st.

A few pics from my morning bee trap inspection. Soils are getting dry here. I ran into a skunk while snapping the bee picture. Missed most of me. -

Hardly wet the ground here. I remember buckwheat seed at $6 a bushel last time we planted for pancake flour. -

Nice clover plot. Deer love red clover. I seed acreage of red clover every other year for a fresh renewal. Make the first hay, then leave the second for deer. Not a stitch is left by Halloween. They eat the blossoms off at just a certain time.
