  1. Getting ready for a morning sit. Sat all day yesterday. Only seen 1 all day at 9 but was a dandy. No shot with an arrow
  2. Cows were laying down when i left for work at 7am this morning. I always say if cows are laying down, deer are too. I have 15 days off fom now till November 29th so looking forward to that
  3. Thanks, do to write in only won't know for about 1 week
  4. I will be voting no after work today. Also I am running for town council so gotta vote for myself also
  5. I think sight, hearing, and smell. One of 3 makes a deer curious, 2 of 3 and the deer is gone. Just my opinion, I am not an expert
  6. Went out at 230 today. Grandson said I couldn't hunt this morning. Anyhow about 5 I got to see the 13 point I have been after. He came up the hill and went left. I needed him to go right.
  7. I always carried a beer with me when I drank. After i killed one, i would sit and drink it before starting the gutting and drag. Over indulging is a problem, but nothing wrong with a beer. This is the 3rd season since i quit drinking.
  8. Heading out for an evening hunt. Mother in law passed unexpected monday morning. Got the call while hunting that morning. Haven't been out all weekend. I am ready to get out, see what happens.
  9. And we are blaming trump for bidens decisions being made that we dont like, smh
  10. I haven't gotten the jab because I don't see the benefit in it, for me. If I felt I was high risk,I can see a benefit. Same reason I do not get the flu vaccine. I see the jab as something that could cause an issue for myself not prevent a issue. If my immune system is doing ok, I don't wanna take something that could compromise it. That is my reason.
  11. Dont think i wanna taste that meat
  12. I posted on facebook 2 weeks ago the lowlifes I caught trespassing on my property. They even took down my cables, and posted signs. Found them in 3 days. I figure I would make them famous. Here they are
  13. Fear and lack of faith are the main weapons used. Still being pushed by many politicians
  14. The electric cars are a long way from clean. Biggest issue is storage of energy. Fossil fuels are currently more efficient and viable. I do not like the mandates for renewable energy, but I do like alternatives. Competition is good for consumers. If government would stay out of the business, all Americans would benefit from combustion engines, and electric motors. Mandates are going to drive the cost up of both fossil fuels, and renewable energy. If left up to private sector fossil fuels will phase out on their own. Alot more "now" power can be created with electric. Fossil fuels currently are more of a stable power.
  15. Calm cool morning in 8y. First time on this piece of property this year
  16. Take the breech plug out, and clean it. I leave mine apart after the season. I never could understand how someone forgets their gun is loaded.
  17. Nothing but squirrels this morning. Gonna get some chores done and head out to a stand i set up yesterday in the rain. Haven't moved a stand this late in years. I figure doing the same old routine on the bucks i am after hasn't worked yet, so trying something different.
  18. I am in the age group as well. Your point of loyalty is correct, and dedication is correct. It was an eye opener for me. Loyalty should go both ways. I have more time for my things now.
  19. First time not seeing deer tonight. Beech nuts were falling good tonight. 645 I headed out of the woods onto a powerline. While standing there I watched a bear come out. He headed down the powerline trail behind me as I walked home. I figure he headed into the beech nuts. I have seen several bears over the years, but first one bow hunting. He was the biggest I can recall seeing, and only the second one I have seen on this property. Hope he was passing through, I don't have interest in a bear.
  20. All done for the day. Went out and sat from 1230 till 445. Poored around 2 and got soaked. Second time, around 430 came with thunder. Called it quits and got out of the tree. My pockets were full of water and i was soaked.I was in the edge of pines and beech brows. Had a doe with 2 fawns come in just before first rain, and they moved on after the rain quit. Had a doe with 1 fawn come through about 3 and brows for a bit before they left. Had another unidentified deer come by 75 plus yards in the brush 5 minutes before 2nd storm moved in. Seemed to have good movement, but didnt seem wise to be up a tree in a thunderstorm.
  21. Rain stopped hear in 8y. Looks like thunderstorms gone in forcast till late evening. Gonna go out for at least a midday sit, depending on weather, may sit till dark.
  22. Wouldn't big bussiness generate more tax dollars than license? If a hung cost 10k, thats 800 plus dollars at 8% sales tax. Then add property tax, tax for fencing, supplies, ect. Seems one person paying for 1 hunt generates more money for the government then 1 person buying a license. Add in gun control, it would be more beneficial for high fence hunt, then public hunting. I agree dec is understaffed, and should do more. I think farms are a target because it takes less work for the dec to find fault
