  1. I dont see Tampa as winning division, they have to beat saints. Baltimore is not going far ,Lamar is not the answer. Reminds me of flutie.. big flash nothing left ... percy Harvin trying to come back at 32 is yet to be seen...
  2. None.. she hair simply wears off the spots, and then add in shedding of winter coat and growing of new summer...
  3. Crazy hes coming back to play
  4. I am pleased with off season trades and acquisitions that the bill have done, 1st year I dont really care about draft for them, the need some LB and CB help and perhaps another young running back to develop. I see it as a best player left draft for them. The vikings on the other hand I want to see what is planned after basically disassembling their team...
  5. If you can get lead into the body of a Turkey your aiming at wrong spot or are way to close. Those body feathers are like armor plate.
  6. Exactly why after winter and breeding in april they feed on abundant greens and bugs and add weight quick, much like a buck after rut, they can still breed but are back on late season food sources fattening up .
  7. They are still laying now or starting to sit, weather 4 to 6 weeks from now will be the main factor.
  8. Main breeding is done by beginning of may, they then start feeding a lot more and displaying less ,and start to put weight back on. Of course like all men a sexy call may drag them away for a quicky later in season. Usually a nest or two fail and a hen will rented, that is what we are capitalizing on in late season.. though heaviest birds are fall birds by far
  9. But it removed the successful hunters allowing less pressure on remaining birds especially on state land. On private the birds went back to natural patterns . As the saying goes 10% of hunters take 90% of game.. besides if you were done in 2 days then you sat around the whole rest of the month...
  10. I'm old enough to remember the split season 1 bird in 1-15 , and your second had to be 16- 31. Hunted under that and I continue to do so.. i wish they would go back to it in all honesty. ..
  11. Yes had to edit and add 2nd photo, slow internet but didnt want to lose what I had in already.
  12. Well inoculated my 1st logs today.. this was shiitake mushroom spore so a sugar maple was sacrificed.. about 7 in in diameter and 4 to 5 ft long. 1st drill 3/8 hole as long as dowel provided, about 1 in deep, about 4 to 5 inches apart in a diamond pattern ( about 50 holes a log it worked out to.) 2nd fill hole with spore inoculated dowels. Pounded them in flush with hammer. 3rd sealed dowels in with parifin/ bees wax and sealed end of logs as well. 4th Took to a shady humid spot in woods and layed on some 2 in thick limbwood to keep off forest floor. Now the wait ... well really waiting for more spore to arrive , decided on shiitake, lionsmane, and blue oysters. Will be same exact procedure for lionsmane, and same for oysters with just a change of log species to Aspen. .
  13. 20ga became the "in thing" in late 90s when rob keck started shoving them on every tv show and every nwtf banquet, he even went down to a 28 gauge but thankfully that never caught on. Banquets for various organizations is what fuels the gun " in thing" rage. The most recent is the 6.5 creedmore that had been around for decades but no one heard of or used.. enter tv and advertising, product usage and banquets. And everyone needs a 6 5 creedmore. Imo yse a gun you have patterned and are confident in and with extra tight chokes do yourself a favor and put a good optic on it close shots and 6 in patterns lead to misses with out it.
  14. Yes I have dug and moved them to similar condition areas. Will take a year or two to spread and grow enough for a harvest
  15. Could you on not accomplished the same with a lineman belt and spikes and a regular light weight aluminum stand? I have several hang on lite that are under 6 lbs.
  16. I hope several people get lawyers and sue the crap out of this ,executive orders ,no representation, just like most of fdr programs to get the usa out of the depression most were found unconstitutional, most of this will be found the same I'm sure
  17. 3 major factors in placing a stand , after finding what sign/ trail your going to hunt by looking at elevations, cover/ edge are: 1. wind you want to be able to set a stand that allows access into and exit that doe not blow to where you expect deer to come from. 2. Cover will you must have adequate cover.from a reasonable height, cover will dictate how high you need to set up, maybe 4ft in a cedar tree or 18 in. A beech.. 3. Distance you want your expected shot to be 12 to 18 yards from expected shot. IT IS BETTER TO PLACE A STAND TO GET A DEER THAT YOU MIGHT SEE THAN ,PLACE A STAND TO SEE DEER YOU MAY GET A CHANCE AT. To many time we try and be visual and see a long distance , or look for a perfect tree, the wind direction and 12 to 18 yards from the point of shot will tell you what tree you need to be in. It maybe crooked and this is why I find hangons superior to ladder and climbers.
  18. What are you asking for it?, sorry just saw price.
  19. Yep, I have had many over the years, one was a gimp that lasted 5 years and was mature when in1st saw it so maybe 6 in the wild, always layed a good clutch of eggs., and raised a lot of points over the years.
  20. Have 10ga and 12 ga, my favorite by far is my jugged choked 825 mossberg with 3.5 in shells. Weight is fine , kicks harder in ft lbs more than any other gun or rifle out there ,but never feel it while shooting at a bird.
  21. We did a 55 gallon drum elevated 4 ft off ground at fortmans cabin , provides enough pressure to fill toilet and give water for rinsing hands.. a simple pressure 12 volt pressure pump the kind you use on a sprayer would eliminate the need for elevation of tank. And shut off at set pressure. Same as a pump on a well. We also installed a screen at top of barrel to keep insect larva out of it.. you have non potable water but would work. For toilet ect.
