  1. You can but clover takes a bit to establish a root system. Most fall planting are done with a cerial grain( rye, wheat, triticale, oats) the grain grows quick and provides shade for clover as clover needs cooler temps and shorter days in full son.. in spring you can cut the grain or let go to seed and you will habe a 4 to 6 in flush growth of clover under it. Heat is "bad" for clover and is also the reason you do not mow it in from mid july to mid august.
  2. Add same volume of sand to seed to double your seed coverage.. half volume of sand to make it cover 50% more... brassica is ver small seed a coarse dry play sand works best for me a 50 lb bag should last a few years doing smaller plots..
  3. If anything to stretch the seed add sand ....
  4. Definitely go with ag tires ..loaded if possible no matter what brand you get.
  5. Less is more with brassica seed.. it should look spotty when it comes up.. imo your better off spe ding the $ on fertilizer for the plot.
  6. I like kioti tractors.more gmp on hydrolic pumps give you greater lift capacity than many competitors same hp tractors. I prefered geared bit if you never driven tractors and dont know the clutch is used to stop hydro may be what you want.. but i would look at 40 hp if you want to drag logs that would also let you use bigger implements .which can be bought used much cheaper than small home owner plot sized equipment that has gone up in price as more people buy recreational property..

  8. Why do you feel you need 4 wheel drive? Property steep? Wet?
  9. All depends what you call decent .. loose 1/2 in in diameter from what you see in velvet. I had a friend that always saw monster bucks. One day he calls ans says he got one.. i go see it and its a 100in 2 year old.. his definition of monster and mine are way different. this is what i consider a decent buck 3+year old.big buck a monster.
  10. Only seems like 2 weeks left here of growing.. im sure your may grow a little longer with better nutrition and less stress..

  15. Good forage prefered over rye but seed heads have " spikes" on them so deer dont eat .may want to plow it down in spring i usually let my wheat or rye go to seed as turkey and deer eat the heads.
  16. All my fall plots are in... need to overseed neighbors with clover still Should pick up some winter wheat or rye to fill in where bare patches appear later.
  17. No that buck is still here at 4.5 this fall. This is his son ? most likely a good 2.5 from what i can tell from pics this year.
  18. Yes older than 1.5.. son of the " devil buck."

  20. Def something wrong with it..
  21. Glad your ok. But you said it was lazy. People ask me why i take down 20 plus hang on stands down every year only to put them back up in same tree... Safety checks! Straps cables and a jump test a ft or so off the ground.. have api and loggy bayou stands going back to early 90s. Exposure to elements are bad for stands and what lòoks safe may be rotted and unseen under plastic.. Accidents happen when corners are cut. That being said 3 stand put up yesterday and off to help friend put up ladder stand this am.. 22 more stands to do this next 2 weeks. Then stay out of woods till oct 1st....
  22. Cool nights are important.. heavy dew can work wonders especially if its germinated.. i try to find a window of rain and cloudy days.. 3 or 4days. to germ
