    Nesting habitat is crucial. Tall grass fields.. unfortunately the farmers now mow in june for silage.. kills a lot of active nests and makes it impossible to nest again.. the shift from square bales to silage is a huge if not biggest factor imo. Its nationwide as your taxed on buildings and hay needs to be stored dry.. silage wrap the bales and no taxes.. one way taxes are killing the wildlife. . Turkey and deer fawning cover..

    Usually hardend up by mid august.. shed any time now earliest ive seen here was august 21st. Latest was mid oct. Quite a few different ones tusseling around so most must be hardened up

    Bucks starting to scrap. Yes they are still in velvet but horns are hard. Should be stripping velvet in a week.

    Hate possums with a passion they have no purpose ( bs they eat ticks) they only eat ticks on themselves. Omnivores they eat anything.

    Im having a knife maker make me a few similar knife to the ph2 with damascus blades and burl handles. $125 apiece. Took him one of my ph2 to copy shape. Though ricasso will be on new knife for ease of sharpening.. imo ph2 was one of the best designs for a hunting knife.
