I have another committment that evening but may squeeze it in early... -
Deal with this in Lancaster by about 25 years ago, development goes in next to family.farm. While plowing ground after work cops show up as we are making to much noise. Father decided to plow down 25 acres instead of five he was doing . Got back 4 am. Shooting clay birds to the south out of barn cops show up , gonna arrest us, dec officer hears call and shows up. Tells cops we are legal and if they harass us he will be talking to their chief New person in development write into local paper asking what town is going to do about the frogs making to much noise( they built next to creek) Get a call at 8 am Sunday am , telling us we own new owner a garden hose as our fox and pups chewed up his in his back yard..smh..( built next to our woods) Cops arrive while we are baling hay have complaint about us being dangerous to their kids if they ran out in front of the machinery , and hay chaff blowing in thier pool, ( mind you their entire back yard is 30ft. AND hay field is line. Pool is 2 ft from line. Getting tanker of gas delivered to fill up.tanks and cops show up as commit we are running a gas station without permit. Spreading manure, cops show up complaint of us spreading poison without posting signs were were going to, another time spraying corn same complaint.. Got to know local cops very well and dec officers as I would.catch their dogs in traps as they were running loose on the property and they didnt know how to get them out and own dog would bite them..and then the threats of lawsuits .. dec usually calmed that down when they would.ask us if we wanted to charge trespassing and tampering with traps.. Fun time.. main reason I move out and bought as much land as u can to keep idiots away... Family.farm is now 254 homes.. full of idiots I'm sure

-
It never ends with red squirrels.. I shot 53 out of the yard one summer, basterds still get in the barn. Kill one and more show up..

Yes probably true but if a traveling deer smell the same scent everywhere and observes local deer they probably wont spook. And I'm not really interested in 1.5 year old displaced ,but am in the local bullies I protect and let grow. Even if I am.on edge of home range they grow accustomed to that presence there.

The remlin problems seems to have been resolved in last tow or 3 years from what I heard but are still below quality of original Marlins interns of reciever standards to pressure. Marlin made theirs way stronger and Remington scaled back as they saw no need for it to be that high as factory ammo didnt come close to pressure they were built at, old marling can take compressed loads meant for single shot rifles. The new remlin recievers would crack with same round. That is only difference now..

Fear of Scent is learned response. My friend hates that I have a cat. Hes worried its scent will get on him and his stuff scare the deer. I looked at him and said that cat goes out from dawn to dusk every day and wanders everywhere if a deer smells it it thinks oh it's just the cat.. probably the best cover scent you dont have to buy! My friends also believe that the deer are use to my scent as I am usually tr trying to improve or repair things on the property all the time and this is reason I get my game every year.. idk. But I know deer get use to dogs on a chain in yard and will bed close by. I agree with phade, cameras should be placed for easy access not back in the brush where you leave scent for 50 yards on everything that touches you every time you check camera. I guess that's where a cell cam would work sending photos to your phone.. mine arson edge of fields/ logging roads, and other easy access points, drive golf cartup to them swap cards and leave

When I said dec I should of stated game department. Almost all states have seperate game from environmental. And as an amendment of right to hunt and fish, a season must exist, even if limited in number or length .

The photo is like that because they see the glow from infrared light. The only way you avoid that is to place cameras high and face downward. Those of us that grew up with old white flash film cameras learned this fast. Surprisingly the good bucks learn to avoid the front of a camera fast ,placing a second cam at 90 or 180 degrees from 1st one is an eye opening experiance or if you buck disappears try turning The 1st camera 90 or 180 degrees . how many game animals learn to walk behind an existing camera is amazing. I have gotten some of my best bucks using this method. Not much concerned with scent as plastic doesn't hold it and with the rain this year every day scent is washed off quickly

Well game is not the only thing that can benefit from your plots. Decided to put an acre of buckwheat in, also have friends who are beekeepers, so I mentioned the buckwheat to them ,they brought up 2 of their best hives, set an electric fence to keep bears at bay and expect to get a few hundred lbs of honey off field ,which will help their bottom dollar as it's a sought after honey. Bonus is though I dont eat a lot of honey they do grow asparagus which I love and several lbs made it into my freezer. -

This spot was a old log landing that was tree free That is 5 hours on a dozer, its natural.clay lined on a slope maybe 20 degrees or so.. I have lot of clay but a test trench should be dug . To.verify level of bedrock and amount of clay This was scrape off top soil then dig.,pile compact(drive over it) dig pile and compact..can get dozer for about $400 a day. Plus fuel.. I had dozer to redo logging roads and had time left in day so I made pond.. -

Well due to the deluge my.area recieved my.pond is full, so full I had to cut in a drain pipe ,that i wasn't anticipating on doing till.spring tommorow is fathead stocking day... -
Yes they were suppose to 2 shallow ponds 1 an acre the other a half acre in a swampy area.. I figured since it would be fresh exposed dirt I'd seed it. Part of deal was it cannot be developed ,and no timber harvesting. Asked about planning food for ducks was okn1st year but then would not be able to work land to replant. I dont duck hunt.. mainly because I have no idea what to do. Though I am on fly way for buffleheadd, mallards, woody's, and snow geese, and Canadian. I have seen large flocks of all use the creek bottom and existing ponds on and near my.place.. one day I'll get it done myself..wont be this year as everything is under water already..
