This is a pa game commission chart but it's close to what your N.Y. deer should be.. If you weigh your deer or use chest measurement ( pulling tape tight) you should get close to this back from your butcher( remember if you destroy a ham or shoulder your gonna get less this is for a clean pass thru lung shot)..if not you may need to find a different butcher!

Yes 82lbs from buck..boneless cuts and ground.. Doe gave me 55lbs of sausage and bacon but pork added for that.. He is the head butcher at grocery store I town and has his own business doing farm animals as.well.. $60 for cuts.. $2 for bulk sausage $3 for cases sausage.. Bacon is $4 a lb

Thanks everyone!! Well very satisfied with him..just got my meat back from butcher 82lbs of boneless cuts.. And enjoying the doe I got earlier as venison bacon!! .. Freezer is full as well... The buck dressed at 178lbs..

I'd move the stand up and brush it in and learn to shoot sitting.. Or place stand on back side of tree and move it higher up hide behind the trunk to shoot.. We put to much emphasis on seeing deer .use your ears and the trunk Will hide any unintentional movement.. Most of my stands are designed for deer to come from behind and shot is 1/4 ing away..

All my scouting is done in Dec Jan Feb. I then set my stands in July after double checking crop field use. A couple of cams up in spend of Sept in general feeding areas. And stay out of woods from labor day to opening day.. Current observations while inner and or walking to stands is only in season I allow or do. Less scent and disturbance in the woods is key where I am as all the camps hit the woods with atvs and hanging stands.. The deer leave this woods and come to nice quiet safe mine...

I was tired.. I had just repositioned stand.Umbrella and fixed seat don't ask. (It's a problem when a right handed shooter puts up a stand..no courtesy for us leftys..) On stand I was in and then had to gut drag and then walk back to house to get help about 3/4 of a mile.. Go back get buck and come back in.. To much work for old fat guy..

Was 3rd buck to come in this morning had a 4pt and a 2 year old 8pt about 20 minutes earlier

Took a nice doe on Sunday 2 weeks ago and filled my buck tag this morning..an 11pt 8 yard shot ....3rd buck this am 4th deer 930 am..

Never been scoped( knock on wood) I did have a hammer on a muzzleloading pistol get me when I shot a deer in It's bed on tiptoes over a brush pile.. Right between the eyes for both of us..I survived....

The only scent I will use is a fresh non bloody tarsal gland off a road kill or a friend's deer.. The only last a couple of day depending on weather . just make sure they came from 3 miles or more from your hunting spot.. Doesnt matter buck doe or dawn..every deer comes in to see who the new deer is.. Hang up wind 40 yards or so 2 ft off ground... You'll be amazed.. Oh and don't put out in the dark or you'll regret all the deer you can't see to shoot

I hunted a piece of land where all you could hunt was hedgerows..no trees.. Proper lane clearing and a low stool. And learned to shoot sitting. If a deer spooks like that the may have caught some of your scent that pooled.. It spreads out from you in all directions unless you have a pretty good breeze. I'd move in the direction it came from and set up again.. Deer will delay coming to a spot they spooked at till later in day or evening. Or they will exit the area earlier.. Depends on day or evening hunt... Keep at it or you can purposely make deer go to where you want by block g the trail with scent or fencing a trail with brush . to direct it to take trail that goes by your stand..but this has to be done where trail splits not well down it as they will simply skirt the blockage ..

I have seen a deer in range every sit morning and evening.. Missed a nice 8 last evening ..little branch got me..it's no longer there.. I hunt till 9 am and get in stand at 5pm.. Deer move 8am to 9 and 550 to 615 where I am

I've seen them for years..people think They are ticks.. Locally can be bad my friend was covered with few days ago.. Fortunately my place gets Damn cold and freezes the basterds and I have only.seen 1 tick and a few keds in 25 years here..

Cover and wind two most important things when placing a stand.. Good luck sounds like you are seeing them. And they you from where they are coming from.. I'd try to cut distance in half and reset if you think they will still come last .. But they will hold at that spot every time now scanning For you. Moving to there or past there would be the smarter idea

I have hit many deer ( double digits) with my car .one time 5 in one year.. They can be good I usually take the deer and take back straps and. Hind quarters. Rest is coyote food..don't even gut it. The only time i stop for fresh roadkill is now for next 3 weeks and I quickly remove the Tarsal glands. If not bloodied up.. And more than 3 miles from my house..buck doe doesn't matter I keep a zip lock baggy in my car for this purpose.. Can't beat them. For deer attracting. I've even stoped and cut them. Off someone else's deer they just got if they will let me. And most people never know they are missing if they want the meat it's all there.
