  1. Shredded bark lol. He was actually killed by neighbor
  2. It uses a propellant it is not projected by a string like a crossbow with energy stored in limbs
  3. This will get passed when they leave restrictions and just want full inclusion, then they can change restrictions.. politicians vote this not sportsmen.
  4. Well the archey argument is that crossbow shoot faster , you can pull a 150 lb compound if you want but the norm is 65 lbs . Some shoot more some shoot less. The restrictions exist to keep in line with the norm. Rifles werent allowed because they shoot to far.. same as modern high weight crossbows.. shotguns were the norm... not saying its right but i had to hunt shotgun for years . Now its rifle .. arbitrary?
  5. Illegal in ny same as big bore air rifles..
  6. The weight and limb restrictions are to keep crossbow equivalent to modern 65lb pull compounds... if you want an anology , your required to use a shotgun as per.regs even though rifles are available.. same thing i have no issue with the current restrictions but because they exist to keep x bow equivalent to modern compound then it should be allowed all of archery.. basically people using the high tech crossbows are the same as people using rifle in a shotgun only area .... illegal.
  7. Many other states big buck states have same restrictions.. there are many legal x bows to buy.
  8. Black walnut do have juglan which supresses growth in other plants, but my grove is full of black raspberry which deer, fox, squirrels ,turkey, bear, and birds, use heavily. The nuts are eaten by turkey, bear, squirrel, and people! The hollow tree lets owls, raccoon, squirrels nest. Ive sold select trees for over 1 k apiece and use that $ to improve other parts of the property for wildlife.. just because they dont provide deer a boost is no reason to cut down a grove , they prefer deep fertial soil. And are important to many species. If you truly are a steward of the land all wildlife and habitat are important. Part of my small walnut grove...
  9. Mine are up year round, i only place them in travel/ feed areas and places that have easy access to check cards. If i were going to put one up near a bedding area it would be daytime photos only. And be a cell cam.. yes deer either see, or hear the infrared ,black light bulbs warm up or go off. Not worth spooking a good buck , and yes they will avoid a camera ( ive gotten mice buck on cam only to have it dissapear , a another camera at 180 or 90 to original usually picks up buck skirting it) If i know a good buck is in area thats good enough for me. I just enjoy the photos more than hunting at this point in my life and the photos get other giys in camp all riled upnespecially the young ones.. If you have easy access every couple of weeks , hard access i would go a month. Best bet imo if your trying to pattern is to get a top quality ceĺl cam.

  13. There is no water within a almost half mile of that beaver... crazy i would assume young male looking for new territory.. maybe he was heading to neighbors pond... idk
