This is the ithaca 37. 16 ga. Looks like it's a 1956? Has a what I think is unique sling attachment via a ring that slides down the barrel..at least it's 1st I've ever seen.

SB 4739 - Establishes the yearling buck protection program

I still would like to see the science that says this needs to be done?.... We have more deer and issue doe tags 3x what is needed because the take doesn't meet what is required to keep population in check in many areas.. Of you don't live in and are with high numbers an hour drive will get you to one.. This is simply a hunter satisfaction legislation. -

Here are the questions that are not addressed.. Will passing yearling based on points make us shoot bigger bucks because there Will be more of them or will we still lack success as they are older but more experienced and will avoid us same as older deer do now? Yes individual experiences will vary across the state but an individual filling all the buck tags for everyone in the party will not and isn't that a bigger problem? Does anyone think perhaps just using continuing education is better than exceptions based on age? Do you get a break if you start hunting at 30? And if so for how many years..how do you enforce it? Asking hunters if they want to shoot bigger bucks is about the same as asking if they want to win the lottery.. Everyone does but most don't purchase the lottery ticket every day.. Realistically. They are not needed and do not serve a need in reproduction.. They are simply there as an attempt at hunter satisfaction.. -
Many states allow it and if I'm in that state I most likely would. Here I would never consider it. As for hunting over a food plot.. Deer can enter and exit and feed anywhere in that field..usually out of range.. On a small kill plot your odds increase but they can be wiped out before you even hunt them.. Bait is set out by a timer is different than a bait pile as now are you not only picking the spot but the time as well... I've lost all interest in all hunting show as none show reality anymore.. Extremely low pressure areas or private ranches seem to have become the norm..

Your problem is poaching.. Why you dont report it is your business.. Ar would not change that as they would still kill the bucks.. As for your situation personally I can show you hundreds of hunters who have hunted the same piece of property for decades who bitch about there being no bucks.. While that brush draw they hunted 20 years ago has grown into a mature woods and the bucks are now on neighbors land using that clear cut to cruise for does.. Ar's will not solve that issue.. And unfortunately that is the case for many hunters.. On friend had same problem unroll he cut some timber and left tops.. Now deer are all over his place as he enjoys what the habitat can provide. -

You missed the type.of cover being hunted as well.. If you have 5 acres of open hardwoods your not going to get any daytime picture a of good older bucks.. Just like sitting over an open field won't get.you a big one except on a rare ocasion if it's pushed or chasing a doe. Having more older bucks in an area will not make them appear in an. Open field or open hardwoods ..they will do what all older buck do. Stick to cover -
I really think your failure is due to helical fetching. Its not needed with mechanical heads it is needed for fixed.. The blades snap easily when hit from she side(torque) but are designed for straight impact.. The extra spin your arrows are getting at 71 lbs with helical spin would place a lot of torque on the deploying blades.. They would snap easily as the are deploying and spinning as they enter.. That is a Set up for Set failure..

Here is an observation on older bucks.. My neighbor to the north sees small bucks and he doesn't understand that we see bigger bucks than he does .he starts a 8 point rule.. Still no seeing bigger bucks than he was before.. We have no rule but use cams to show us what's available and we try for top 3 or 4bucks. We can take a 120 plus in buck every year he sees on that side about ever 4 years.. He hunts out of tripods in open brush fields. We hunt in thick nasty stuff that maybe you can see past 30 yards.. We have 1900ft of boarder with him and deer cross back and forth.. His take..we need restrictions!! There are no big bucks... Our take.. No restrictions necessary.. We do fine. It's not about restrictions it's about learning to. Hunt an area properly waiting for what you want. Even small properties can hold mature bucks if the habitat is there that they require. Looking thru an open woods at 300 yards or across an open field will not yield the same results as hunting in areas larger buck will hold to. -
I believe so ..light a5 I only had a brief period to look at them as she can only show me when kids not home... A little to much interest in them by kids.. Kept under lock and key.. Will get more info soon . has several other Remington shotguns as well 1100, 11-87, 870.. Some are buck barreled and some are vent rib fixed chokes.. Just listed ones I thought would sell fastest for her and for most $.. Eventually all will be sold..

Work up a load starting with 50 grains of powder.. When you hear a Sharp crack your there.. 75 to 95 grains is about average depending on barrel length.. Too much and you just burn it outside of the barrel. As for range 50 cal will kill at 150 yards no problem if you can Use and see the iron sights that well.. I switched to a vernier tang peep on my left handed great plains.. Can keep. 3 in group at 100 yards with it.

The problem is many are not beginning to hunt till they are late 20s or 30s and someone they work with introduce them to it.. Young hunters.. Yes they are just as new as a 14 or 15 year old.. Think of how many of you got small less than 4 a side bucks as your first deer or how many would be undersized. To remove a hunters own personal choice and growth experiences by mandating a size that needs to be taken is pretty selfish as older bucks are not needed to reproduce and continue the species. We are doing a good job thru education and it shows by harvest data( if you can trust what in for they get by a call in ..or spot checking 2 places in any opening day..) I see no reason for this unless they want it in high hunter pressure areas...statelands perhaps... -
A fresh field of oats or wheat .. Planted in April is a good may draw.. Want more than may ..go with a clover mix over seeded in the oats or wheat when it's about 4 to 6 inches high.. ..clover needs a full year of growth to fill in...

What to do with 3 acre field with house in middle?
G-Man replied to Core's topic in General Chit Chat
Why put house in middle of lot? Why not plant trees.. My neighbor was going to put his house out. in the middle untill I explained he made his property useless that way as any shots would be taken toward house.. Plant a privacy screen . keep trees back from house 60 ft or so and plant.. Many species are very fast growers.. Put a small clover field in and watch game eat.. Lawns... Waste of space and nutrition for wildlife... -
