How many lever fans out there .35 marlin for me
G-Man replied to Recurver's topic in Rifle and Gun Hunting
I have a Winchester lever. 22 and, My favorite is a 45-70 gov. Marlin guide gun with a nice Leopold scope,on it.. ,taken grouse(shoot the heads off) bear, and, numerous Deer with it. -
I've shot a lot of,deer and many buck large and, small. I own the land I hunt in and know what is around so I wait, for, one of the older, bucks. No reason really other than its so easy to get a Deer So I like a new challenge. I went, from shotgun, rifle, pistol, to muzzleloader, muzzle loading pistol, crossbow , I guess I'd try spear if,they were legal.. I even threw a knife at a Deer, once many moons ago.. I used every arrow I had and,it,still stood there..lol.. An older buck is,just, more of a challange, I still shoot, does to,full the freezer so killing,a little buck isn't nessary.

I have had and have many tractors.. all 55 hp tractors are not the same..a 38 hp koiti has same lift capacity as a 55 hp kubota.. 1 ton or 1 cord of firewood for an example. 1St Look at.gallon per.minute on hydrolic pumps.. that is a big thing it will give you your lift capacity the more the better. Second you want weight.many compact and sub compact tractors are using a lot of plastic now you want steel! More weight is more traction and safer lifting as more energy into the ground..if your looking for a lawn mower then less weight is better to keep from making ruts in your lawn. 3rd look at auxiliary hydro. Is it only rear or does it have extra front? A front blower or brush bucket is great for clearing snow and removing brush and stacking it as well as loading logs to take to mill or on trailer to take to get cUT rather than skidding them out . 4th ask what hp is on drawbar and pto.. most tractors are now sold as hp from motor.. you want it on towbar and pto and buy appropriatesized equipment for behind it.. a tractor may be 55hp on motor and 35 at drawbar.. another may be 35 at.motor and 38hp at drawbar.. (info can be found online for older tractors) buying a brush hog for a 55 hp tractor amd only having 40 on pto is hard on your tractor and equipment doesn't function. Properly.. I looked at a lot of tractors and last "new one I pur chased was a kioti. Saved thousands over comparible jd,massy ,kubota and new holland, . If you cant.make a new purchase used are.fine from a dealer as they are gone over and usually have a guarantee . Get online and lok up specs on anything you are looking to buy As for.snow removal, blades front or rear work great on stone ,blowers are better on pavement or concrete. Imo.. 2 stage blowers are better than 1 stage but remember they can throw snow a long long way..if stones are in them you don't want to be replacing windows yours or your neighbors as well as dents and chips in cars...

I like my Dec officers and encourage them to snoop around as much as possible.. that really does help keep the rats away ! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

And I'd be fined and lose.my.licence from dec. They are pretty.much on my.place doing fisher studies, bear den and turkey trapping.. I'll just obey the laws Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

I have at least 2 breeding pair, and found a den tree this summer that had 3 little ones.. had one try and take my turkey off my porch where I hung it to go inside and get a plate and knife.. they are fast quiet and deadly. . Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

Same as you can eat bear or fox, but predators are also scavengers so parishes would be a concern.

This year, is lowest fur prices in long time usually 85 to 150 apiece.. so catch them and freeze em till price is up.. just for comparison coon are 2 or 3 dollars this year.. down from 12 to 25. ...so still one the most valuable fur bearer you can catch. In nys. These are off my property from a Dec camera trap for fisher study last 3 years.. I have lots.. cuba area..

Fishers are actually pretty common I see many every year between turkey and deer hunting. The pelt is pretty valuable amd yes they would make a good mount.I believe season is in Oct this year but only 5 days.

Been waiting for a nice buck I have on cam , but today a bear showed up 25 yards facing me. Had bow drawn and was waiting for him to turn ,but he spun and crashed off about 50 yards.. then it came back out at 50 yards but it was to far and to many.little no see um twigs in way . Watched it out to 85 yards .. close.but no cigar.. guess I go back to waiting on my target buck...

Glad your ok, how long was that stand up.for before you checked it a month ago.. straps break down in uv light and sjould.be taken down every year..1 year on a tree and they are at less than 25% of load they were recommended for holding.. take your stands down and inspect every year, at.minimum at least the straps

Deer will do it , love hearing them pop them with their hooves

I've taken down stands on property I bought and put them on the trail leading in leaning against a posted sign. My name and address on sign, some neighbor took the stands and came and talked, others put them back up, so I cut whole tree down with stand in it and smashed it to heck. They got the second hint. The ones that came and talked have become good friends and hunting partners ,they had permission. Previous owner and were.gald.I didn't take them, and they have a lot of property themselves but use to hunt the line, worked out best in.long run, the other smashed stand neighbors , well they stopped coming out to hunt all together.

I figured that under rifle and pistol, I've taken muzzleloader is still a rifle or pistol Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk -
45 caliber bullet, 70 grains of powder.. you shoot more than that in your muzzleloaders.. they also make 45-90 and 45 -120. The gun started off using black powder in a metal.case. of course with today's powdeer and bullets they preform even better than the govenernment test of shooting thru 4 inches of oak plank to kill enemy on other side of fort wall. It is a very versatile round for hunting as well as being nostalgic in the fact it is a straight wall cased shell, and that makes it legal in ohio to hunt whitetail with as well..

Shotgun, rifle, pistol, bow ,and x bow... waiting for spear to become legal.. -
.308 bolt action.. 81 now and still doing head shots..it's actually impressive.. i still won't do it . Horns are meaningless to him.and he's taken some whoppers, even waits for late season tons hoot his doe hoping to find a buck that's dropped it's horns as the body is bigger thus more meat.. some I've seen have had pedicals that would of held some very nice racks...
