No cubs stay with mom 2 years.. that's why there was a long standing rule not to kill a bear in a group regardless of size. Now with larger populations the rule was removed last year or year before.. I'd have to look up some old guides to be sure . Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

The crossbow will get full inclusion before you see an early muzzleloader season.. that's why Dec has been pushing them, they want more take in archery. they feel the hunters will hunt do to better weather, not as dangerous as gun season and you can hunt in more populated areas with 150 ft set back vs 500 ft. If the bow hunters would of taken doe the crossbow would never have been an issue. And yes many could of taken doe and pass them, some years maybe you don't see doe but overall most bowhunters are looking for a buck.

She won't ditch them till fall/ winter. Breeding is spring and she will have new cubs next winter after being bred this coming spring 2017. Bears keep cubs 2 years.. before breeding again

Buy a empty spray bottle and a gallon of fresh apple cider. You be in it cheaper than any comercial scent. Spray it on trees near you or just into the air. And if your thirsty a few squirts down your throat.... try that with a commercial lure. Much more natural and effective.

Very late breeding, lack of bucks to service doe. Or too many doe. Even if it was fawn giving birth to fawn that's very late.

10 % of hunters take 90% of the game.. and the average bow today is pretty easy to use . My 12 year old.nephew is splitting noks at 20 yards after 2 day practice . Sights release kisser button.. and getting close to game is the key the average hunter tells.me head a 100 yard shot and it's much closer to 50.. and an average hunter usually doe not take up bow hunting under the premise it's too hard.. so your dealing with better than average hunters to begin with.. Yes game in Europe is owned by the landowner. Professional.hunters have to submit a plan for population control on that land and pay if they fail to do what is promised. And can lose their lease. We do not own the game they belong to the state. But they are asking use to do a job, when we boycott or do not do our management part we aren't fined, they simply find another way to remove the excess animals....

The time you want to be in your stand is seeking phase, when peak occurs you need a hot.doe near by or you won't see squat.. usually week to 10 days before peek. So normally 1st 2 weeks november .is best hunting

And yet we can take 5 to 8 doe out of the wild in October withbow at camp every year our archery success rate is near 80% every year with 100% done several times... not impossible.. it really comes down to hunter attitudes. . Today's "bows" are so high tech practice is minimally required as pins, peep, and kisser buttons are set hard back walls , releases, 80% let off , smooth cams.. using traditional equipment I'd agree with you. Not with the modern stuff. But we fall under the assumption bow is so hard. Yet many of the members here kill their deer 1st time out. You see it In the hunting success threads. And threads on long shots that we may or may not agree with ethically. The equipment allows this with practice. If we miss it's our fault no the equipment 99% of the time. Shade trees for rest.. days of horse and plow.. no need in modern times so many are removed.. through central new youk there are "wolf " white oaks in field and many are huge there is evendors a book about them. And yes most lone trees are oaks and because they have no competition their nuts are sweeter and more plentiful due to the large full crown.. deer do head to these trees to eat as they are preferred.

Yes you have large variety of bullets and loads to pick from from manufacture.. look for a rapid opening bullet for shorter ranges.. holow or softtipped. Solid or full jacketed rounds will just pass through and leave a small hole at such close range

Barry wensel.. probably the best traditional archer ever. And biddelspacher went on to become the head video grapher for realtree. Both are now in their late 60s or 70s .. Much harder to find, is whitetail visions technique series.. and video on black bear "master of the black bear".. all are well worth tracking down but I have only found them vhs.. and am still a few short.. tricking whitetail bucks and shooting running deer are both well worth it if you can find them..

Yes, the music is old and video grainy from the HD we are now use to but here it is

Yes you can get them on net flix Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

Early season is food.. for all deer.. though bucks will hang back and enter fields last.. a field edge is a nice place to see deer, usually to far away for a bow shot. Your better off moving into the woods 30 to 50 yards and set up on entrance trails and where you see old rubs these spots are active all bow season. Field edge maybe 1st week or so till deer get spooked off by road hunters, spotters, entering and leaving stands..

Just wondering if anyone has ever learned anything from a hunting show or video that they actually put to use? I learned a lot from the old whitetail visions hunting videos and their techniques series.. those were all from the late 80s early 90s.. I can't say I've learned anything since then it seems to have just become entertainment and a way to advertise products and the"hunters" to earn a living. What are your experiences recomendations??

For nfc will go with the vikings with ap winning rushing title again, afc i wish i could say bills but they have o stregnth and conditioning dropping like flies in practice... but they can give pats run with brady out untill the ryans explode and the excuses come out oh we were riddled with injury, our father died, ect ect... wish they could of got dungy out of retirement to coach...

as for tips , get back in the woods a bit from a field edge and look for old rubs scrapes, set you stad even further back the faint trails that are in this area..bucks scent check everything, humans use visual targeting.. you better off being in the right spot to see a deer that you can get , than being in a spot to see deer that you cant... get on net flicks and pick up bowhunting oct whitetails 1 and 2 you will learn more from those 2 videos than in 5 years watching new hunting shows and wandering around the wood yourself...i apologise for the wierd 80's sound track and pre hd video but they are worth it!

dont post post you baited..even if for a cam its illegal in ny...unless by special permit for research.. bachlor groups will be breaking up soon and yearlings will be cruising looking for new home ranges as mom kicked them out... habitat is ket to keeping any animal on a property.. work on that

it comes down to this bow hunters were given an oppertunity to show that they could manage numbers and they chose not to..thats it , wether it was because extra doe tags werent available then or if it was well i want a buck and if i shoot that doe i cant get the monster that may follow it in the rut past my stand.. or the dec said do it or else! The end result will they will implement another method to achieve the desired result , be it full inclusion of x-bow or special gun season, or muzzleloader early... fact is we as hunters failed and there are concequences..... bow are effecient, and effective weapons and almost everyone at camp gets a deer with bow a few might take 2 or 3 with bow, we have an 80% success rate with bow and a 40% with gun as everyone has meat in freezer and is waiting for that booner it seems.. hunter attitudes is it ...not weapon or season legnth.. if it was all the other states would be passing doe waiting for that big guy to walk by, but looking at weekly number from mannd checkpoints in ohio you can see they are filling freezers immediatly using those less effecient bows, instead of just waiting till gun...
-
yes. much less effective hunters. getting close to game is what a effective hunter does, a shooter takes targets at range paper or live..
