In south america Guinea pigs are very common as restaurant fare and pretty tasty as well, though my nephew gets upset when i ask him if his is big enough to eat yet.....

A friend had his Shetland pony done and a prize bull...sucker has some long horns. Guess it would be up to the taxidermist if he wanted to do them or not. I've seen several koi done at a local shop.
-
They are pretty good, at least the young of the year. My grandmother use to cook them wrapped in bacon like squirrels. As for being a rodent they are all tasty if eating naturally and not of some garbage pile, kind of like bear...

Pretty much everything sold for bows is of quality, is usually just a preference on brand name. Shooting form is most important, but if any gadget helps it would be a good angle compensating rangefinder. Not part of a bow but most "misses" are from judging distance wrong.... the best rest or sight in the world wont help you if you cant judge range right!

looks like abandon meth lab.... bad news...

Nice! Everything here still under snow

My area drops into zone 4 every winter...-20 several nights in a row, had some hardy peaches grow for a while but they freeze out, fingerlakes are much warmer than i am, water keeps things much warmer if its nearby. its very dissapointing to have 5-7 years of growth killed in 1 winter... i'lll stick with what works by me.
-
chestnuts are very good i use dunstan chestnuts, peaches won't grow by me too cold. persimmions i've never tried but i belive i would be too cold as well. makes sure what you plant will be tollerant to temps it will be exposed to.national arbor association has a chart. 20 tress is a good number, i wouldn't go lower than 5 in an area for pollinating purposes. i have several orchards planted, chestnut and apple mostly. one is 12 acres, a little big for most people, ansd the smallest s a half acre 8 trees,m and several existing apples there as well.
-
It depends how big you want to go size wise, i have several planted, most fruit trees require cross pollination. So 2 or more types of apples for example are needed. Of couse you want early/ late/ mid producers. I have apples, pears, plums together, black knot is the bane of cherry and plums. Unless you really are goinng to keep up with treatments look for desiese resistant varieties and buy the largest stock you can 1in or larger, protect them with wraps/tubes from rodents and deer rubbing their horns. 3-5 years you will see production.

The world wants china do do something about it, easy, ban Chinese products. Then they will take care of north Korea themselves... easy to do and most of our economys will take a hit -
Deer get spooky before season as the woods are assulted by atv's, human scent, hammering, wood smoke as 90% of the hunters show up 2 weeks before the season. If you ride your atv all the time they ignore it but when they here it and all the other intrusion they head for the hills. Its why the experts get dropped off by atv or tractor that is on a routine drive by.. deer ignore it and the hunter is in place.. you dont see them riding their atv 2 miles back in the woods to hunt but are dropped off on edges of trail/fields

Your at your house they see you go in and out all the time. Like a farmer going to the barn. But do 1 thing different and poof gone.

Sorry to hear that, but. More is coming under socialized healthcare its not gonna get any better... hope an alternative is found for you and your little one.

North Korea Vows To Nuke The US!
G-Man replied to Cabin Fever's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Well remember we are still at war , we just have a cease fire agreement with them, they don't need a missle over 90% of us border is wide open, can drive a semi here thru canada anywhere from main to washington state, especialy out west we depend on seismic sensors they by the time agents get there a truck would be gone. Look at the bales of drugs that get in everyday!!! let alone thousands of illegals... one armed man and a boat could cross lake erie anytime, just kill the 2 nice agents that show up in their boat and ask you where your from... a rpg would work nice for that. -
Don't really care if i get a deer anymore, would rather see my friends /guests get one. i'm more about scouting / habitat manipulation, and get my satisfaction telling someone to be in a stand at 1/4 to 4 and the buck will be there at 4:15. don't miss! Absolute best feeling when they connect!
