yes the regular season buck tag becomes an either sex for late muzzloader but you need to have the muzzloader licence to use it. has been this way for years. Many a late season doe have been put on that tag by myself and friends through the years!!
-
I mow it 2x a year.. once late spring before the weeds/grasses in it go to seed, and once late summer. it last 3-5 years though i did get 8 out of one planting. Haven't had much luck with brassicas. clover draws year round and is great for turkey as well!!

I gave a friend permission to hunt some family land in lancaster, with the understanding he shoot does! Of course i told him if a good buck come thru he could shoot it. well for 3 years he's done a great job taking does and passing small buck. this year he got a good one! and the best part is after watching this one drop 40 yards away he stayed in the stand and a half hr later took a good mature doe which ran and expired within 6 ytds of the buck. I guess that makes a pretty good afternoon!! Says he has 1 more doe tag left and will be back to get after them pesky doe!!

I have noticed this as well but not so much as changing the pattern as much as advoiding the camera. I have litteraly moved the camera 90 - 180 degrees and re captured mature bucks that have learned to walk on the side or behind the camera, they still go through the same spot but walk around the activation zone of the camera.

i think 3 1/2 maybe a great 2 1/2 but with the bad winter last year and body size i'll say 3 1/2.

how many guys do you think shoot 2 buck a year?? As For the Ar's they aren't in my area but we have passed yearlings for years..we still dont have big numbers of large racked bucks being taken.. if a buck can survive a season or two they get smart!! i get pics on camera but taking them is a different matter. You can't stockpile big bucks.... I dont see whats changed in the past 50 years that now the deer cant survive unless you put ar's on them.. we suposedly had a lot mor ehunter 30 years ago... the deer still survived and reproduced and the old timers got to enjoy their hunting. Leave it up to the individual, i for one am sick of being told what i can or can't do by some gov agency...

I had a similiar experiance falling in catt creek and hunting the rest of the day when i was a kid. I found that a normal pair of thin wool socks with sole and toe warmers let me stay out for 4-6 hrs. i normally only last 1-2 before pain would force me back in.

Wouldn't you just be better off making a nice thick area on your land , and then stay out of it..bucks will go in and make it to the next year without ar's or worring about the neighbor shooting it down the road.. There are too many hunters in certain areas an ar's will only lead to highgrading the herd... you'd be left with giant 4's in a short time. How come it seems like there is a big one taken in everyone's hunting area every year with out ar's? You can't stockpile big bucks and most of us do not have the time or skill to consistantly take one every year. when they get old they get smart!! it won't be a bunch of big bucks walking around like dumb yearlings......

3-5 days after spooking a deer..is my rule of thumb.
-
this time of year i dont call unless i see a deer moving away..then a grunt or bleat to bring it back.
-

Gun shots at first light opening day of bow season sz
G-Man replied to Dutchess hunter's topic in Bow Hunting
If poaching was really that rampant..someone would be getting caught. especially if shooting 5x or more.. phesant hunters..more than likely. poachers want 1 clean quick shot ..multiple shot is ususally someone else hunting another species that it open. -
had 2 doe n fawn at 30 yrds.. let em keep walking..
-
nice!! don't mind the wind but the rain is terriable..
-
2 doe and a fawn at 30 yards...don't really feel like gutting and cutting up a deer today so they continue to walk.....
