Now is the time for a lot of habitat work.

You want to create a patch work so. There are trails thru and around the " clumps you created. You also need to maintain that area cutting down water sprouts that get out of deer reach. So by leaving these trails thru you also ave access to. Maintain. If you made it that thick go in and cut trails and make them enter and exit where its best for a stand. This works very well in clear cut areas that have grown in after a couple of years, a weedeater with a blade cutting trails thru it will become deer trails thay go by the couple of trees left buy the loggers in the area. Only need to be 2 ft wide to really become effective. Can also use this method in fallow fields as deer will start using the trails for ease of movement in and out of the cover. -

As for stands i got 8 down 32 left to pull, A simple yard leaf rake, spary of gly, a soil test , fert and lime raked in and plant is all that is needed. Keep in mind radish leafs are eaten before turnip leaves depending on when you want maxium draw for hunting. You can do that in late summer. -
This time of year starts habitat manipulation season. Got out and marked about 80 trees to hinge cut or drop today, got the saws dropped of f to shop for sharpening and tune up, need about 3 more mornings to mark some more trees in various areas to hinge and drop this winter. Marking out what will be planted where in plots this year ,some trail clearing and cutting out a plot edge to enhance natural browse and soft mast available Getting the guys from camp organized for a few cutting weekends so. More gets done than just me cutting on off days. Hope to get about 7 acres thickened up in 3 or 4 weekends. Early spring starts maintanence on equipment so its ready for planting season. What are your winter routines??

You can cross trail and parallel it no reason to walk on it . Scent draws attention , clip trail.to your stand preseason, rubber boots and clean scent free clothes. Giving up all scents made me a much better hunter. Deer come in relaxed not on alert looking for a deer or other animal cover that they smell causing them to duck arrows and see the slightest movement. -
I understand that completely i was just try to point out this doenst mean it will happen if at all in the next 10 years. The way it was released it seemed like people just assume this is it and are going crazy buying crossbows that are not nys compliant cause this it happening.

I use no scent , usually do not call at all unless i see deer i am trying to turn. Seems to work alot better and be more sucessful without than with. -
Come on jacksonville.. id love to play miami again and get a good lead and restsome starters...
-
So much better than our starters even the commentators siad i havent seen this guy go backward yet...
-
Why has willoams been on our practice squad unused ,angry runner moves the pile unlike our two starters..reminds me of a young lynch...
-
The temp tells the story.. deer have their coat fluffed to keep warm.. - 8 celcius is pretty chilly as 32 f is 0 c. , ir cameras do wierd things at night reflection on raised fur makes things appear different, tend to see same thing in spring when fur is shedding.
-
Yes honeysuckle, easiest way to get rid of it is to hit with 4% gly in early spring as it is the 1st to leaf out. A hand sprayer works well or a backpack or atv sprayer if you have one. ( this is also best way to kill off multiflora rose as well) You can. Pull it but that tens to disturb soil and its seeds that are dormant will then grow. If you notice in bills video above they are only green in woods, gly will kill it and leave skeleton , those will be crushed down by snow and creatures in a year or two. This video is labor intensive ,i prefer less labor. If you want the dead skeletons removed or curshed down after killing by round up simply run over them with atv, tractor or bush hog. At that point roots are dead . Any new growth noticed can simply be hit with gly again.

Thatvl was for right to reproduce it,idk deer and deer hunting, north american whiterail and the amount paid to put it on tour at various outdoor shows

Was from a stranger in taxidermists shop offered 500 for rack, liked big 8pts
-
You only need to impress one ,milo hanson 1 mill plus for duplicating his rack..and who is he.. branson. Buck replica horns cost 5k plus.. Anyone that wants antler restrictions is an obsessed hunter so just off. This forum there are a large number.
-
A couple of hundred for a add x maybe 5 or 10 companies better than nothing, had offer for a 146 in gross 8pt just becase it was an 8pt.. people pay crazy $ if they want something
-
1st of some magazine will for exclusive , then any one whos call , scent, clothing, gear, you used as well bow manufacturer. Even if its a nominal amount x 20 or so products.. then add in the crazy antler collectors who want a replica of it.
-
Give it a few decades and info will be lost and new records will be popping up all the time, the dont microchip the antlers or carve into them saying game farm raised.. have the same issue making stone spear heads ,if done in a paleolithic style they are near impossible to tell a modern from an original Nice part with this forum larrys buck is documented and will be researchable as an authentic wild take

Thevarea around black lake always held a good amount of birds, went fishing up there years ago and called one Of the mountain to an island we were anchored next to, glided right across the lake . Had we been hunting it would of been an easy kill. Strutted on the bank 30 yards away.. us sitting in the boat..

That was tried attached to budget 4 years ago and was vetoed by coumo then was left out of it.. in subsequent drafts including final budget..
