I think with a rifle a good scope and the right bullet at 20 yards or so it could be done ethically but not with a defensive pistol like that, unless it was a survival situation (NO way) I would use that caliber ,not even in a rifle , makes no sense when I can use something more powerful .

Just name how many differet game animals you have hunted over the years .

Now that i think about it in the early 80s at midnight I took a wrong turn off highway and found my self in a real bad part of the Bronx now that was scary

They tried a few times before don't think there is much interest . But good luck with that. Not really something I would go out of my way to fight for .

Semi lost that is where you come out of the woods much farther down the road then you thought you would don't think I got lost in the sense that I didn't know the general direction that the road was at . But it is annoying all the same

Well if you follow the safety rule of know your target and what is behind it I would say around here taking ridiculously long shots on open ground trying to use mill dots with out really knowing what you are doing is a accident waiting to happen. That's how Bullets potentially find there way into homes and laws get changed to go back to shotgun only zones . Just hunt closer to where you know the deer like to hang out .

Yea it' is a privilege but consider back then when they wrote the constitution they blasted everyhing that moved lol Don't think they worried about or had animal rights movements 300 plus years ago trying to ban hunting rights . Or they would have made it a right like they did guns in the constitution.

Mill dots are good for hunting Antelope out west or something. Here I don't think there are to many places where you could take a long enough shot with a rifle to take advantage of them . There great for airguns though.

I only use one on my airgun. My rifles shoot flat at the ranges I shoot mill dots not needed . mill dots can be used in 2 way range estimation and in the way you described basically there are bullet and pellet ballistic apps out that will tell you how many dots up or down you would aim at for the distance you are shooting at and windage. If you put in all the specs of the ammo you are using .They way I use it on my air gun is i 0 my scope at 35 yard then shoot at targets farther and closer and see how many dots up or down the pellet is going then you either memorize it or write it down . Trial and error at targets is probably the easiest way to learn how to use them . Trying to explain it with out just someone practicing using them becomes complicated . The way they use them for range estimation is basically at a certain distance and magnification each mill is so many inches apart you count how many dots your known sized target is like a deer . And with a mathematical formula you can know the range or just with practice memorizing how many mill dots a deer is at a hundred yards 200 yards 300 yards and so on .

Yea so if thats true and they don't count the cams in theory a compound crossbow company could just design the cams bigger and bigger or other parts to get more speed and stay with in the limits . You simple can't do That with a recurve crossbow all you can do is increase the draw weight.. That is the problem with trying to limit it that way .they should have used a engineering consult to right the law if they wanted to make every thing fair and equal between all these different types of weapons platform. Or just go by speed rating like they do with airguns .

I am pretty sure dogs were mostly kept outdoors by humans before 70 or 100 years ago did there genetics change so much in 100 years that they can not survive winter anymore ? I think most breeds could if it came down to it .

There are to rifles i am eyeing right now to buy not that I really need anymore guns but can you really have to many lol Both are made by Browning Bar and BLR take down . In 30-06 . Would of been nice if rem made guns like that . They would be much less I'm sure if they did .

I got three rems all from early 90s ,80s and 70S they all. Work great But from what I here about the new ones probably going to go with something else next time I buy a rifle .

That is why I said depends where you are at . They will change habits once they see a few of there Buddy's getting killed I would imagine these deer probably never had that experience so they don't care if you're near them
