Well for the last 2 years the MSM still cannot stop talking about him so in some regards he never left. He is damaged goods, with some of it self-inflicted. The Republican party needs his policies in a different candidate for 2024. Perhaps, DeSantis. However, a lot can change between then and now. Many Dems are not behind Biden or Harris, regardless of whatever either says. So who will the Dems put forward? Appreciate too that this current administration in it's last year will promise more FREE stuff, unconstitutional or not, to "buy" votes. It would be interesting to know how many people voted Dem in the midterms solely because of tuition loan debt forgiveness.

Deer Hunting sure has changed for me.

Unfortunately and sad, but same experience. Grew up hunting with 2 generations of family and friends. Had the same attrition and will add that the third generation has no interest. None. No ones third generation hunts. -
PSA: When descending (or ascending) a ladder stand, ALWAYS maintain 3 points of contact at all times. That's two hands and one foot or two feet and one hand. This is occupational protocol for using ladders to avoid falling off. Yes, there is a proper procedure to using ladders.

Completely agree! Two clear examples. 1) Hunting partner shot at a deer broadside from the ground. Arrow got deflected and he said it ran off with arrow sticking out of its rump. We tracked hoping to find his arrow. Had a decent blood trail and eventually found the deer. The arrow actually never hit the rump. It hit the opposite rear leg inside femur and severed the femoral artery. The fletch being near the rump made it appear that is where the impact was. 2) I shot a deer broadside from the ground; aiming at the front leg crease. Saw the arrow bury up to the fletch back near the abdomen. I instantly saw it as a gut shot. Watched the deer run off and drop/pile-up 15 yards away. Without me realizing it, the deer moved and was actually quartering away. Arrow hit liver, diaphragm, lung, and heart.

I took no position on the "carpetbaggers". You previously stated: "I did say that: a) Walker is stupid. Uniquely so; b) Fetterman won because the people rejected a TV personality who was clearly a grifter and carpetbagger. Given the choice, they chose." I simply raised the question of whether calling him a carpetbagger was hypocrisy, since HRC did the same thing.

I agree with the bold but not necessarily the "using a bonded or monometal bullet that leaves an exit hole". When a bullet exits it did not dump it's kinetic energy into the animal, therefore leaving a smaller or no shock cone. It may even blow through with little to no expansion. Deer are thin skinned relatively light animals. Rapidly expanding bullets broadside are the DRT formula.

Yeah, every year some innocent person is shot and killed because someone "thought it was a deer". Can't imagine what would happen when people go out looking like a deer!

IMO, wound looks too big and ragged to be an arrow. A tear from another bucks antler while fighting would be my guess.

Hey Long Island went all RED this election. Don't leave it to be part of NYC! -
I'm not a small game expert. Many years ago while deer hunting in the Catskills I saw a white weasel?/martin?/ermine? (no idea what it was) that was definitely not albino.

In all likelihood what happened here, was the bullet exited the deer at a sharp angle while tumbling. This will cause exit wounds like you saw. Under normal circumstances, the mushroomed bullet exit hole will be no larger than 2x caliber diameter.

I handload and have shoot deer (one shot DRT kills) out west at distances of 450 yards, 360 yards, and 330 yards. These are laser range finder confirmed distances. All of the shots were braced off a tripod. You should never be shooting 200 yards or more free hand. I am concerned about the bolded text above. 1) "... Loosing a 2nd buck" may or may not be due to the bullet performance itself; 2) "...but felt very smooth shooting" means nothing. Low recoil?; 3) " But the hole was clean. Straight though, and no tearing of the paper. " is what you want. This means the bullet is not yawing or tumbling.; and 4) "...and good impact." cannot be determined by paper targets. Regarding bullet performance, I found Nosler partitions to be better suited for bear/moose/elk and Nosler Accubonds to be excellent for deer.

Trump/Republicans/Conservatives etc have nothing to do with this attack on Paul Pelosi. It also has nothing to do with January 6th. Just like Obama/Democrats/Liberals had nothing to do with Scalise being shot. Let law enforcement do their job and the truth/facts will come out on this. There are lots of unanswered questions and holes.

Hope you named that button buck Sir Isaac Newton! Friend saw two decent bucks sparring in 1C last night. May be time to try rattling.

Not so. There was a DEC confirmed sighting in the Hamptons last year.

Interesting. Doesn't look anything like a salt water Sheepshead or Drum.

What is the 7th fish pictured?

That's so the Liberals can claim victory on intelligence equity!

What I find interesting is the guys (it's rarely a woman) who drive like this in expensive high end vehicles. I suspect the cars are leased and they do not give a S--T about wrecking it. Most all people who own their vehicle are careful about risking damaging it.

It's' mental illness, plain and simple; our prisons are rightfully full of these individuals. You did the right thing. One day he will meet up with someone just like himself, only bigger, stronger, and more violent, and he will get some karma.

Succeed will never happen based on many points already raised. A foreign government owning land in our country/state does not make it sovereign land of that country, unlike an embassy. Also missing is the legal concept of eminent domain. If the government (NYS) wants the land, they will get it. This all plays out in the legal world. Long Island is geographically an island but cannot succeed from NYS because a (long long time ago) law exists basically declaring LI part of mainland NYS due to the bridges connecting it. I'm sure the same is true for Manhattan. Yes, the legal world works that way. Remember, the weather event Sandy? The meteorologists (science) declared it a superstorm. NYS Governor at the time, legally declared it a hurricane. This was so that victims of the event would receive better insurance coverage. Any claims that ended up in court had the insurance companies dealing with a hurricane event. The legal world, where all this would have to take place, works that way.
