I'm going down to pick nephew up on Monday . Planning on fishing our way back north. Going to spend most of the day on willow and beaverkill. Was thinking of making our evening stop ,fishing until dark , on the Delaware someplace . We will still have a couple hour drive home from Deposit. I have fished mostly the beaverkill and willow . Just a couple times on the Delaware . Any recomendations ? I really dont have a clue where to go . I use to fish the DRC and state game lands .

Looks like it's on the right side to me ... -
Didn't know a Doug .. but I do know a Chris . He showed me the woodchuck they use to troll for smallies on planer boards. Big old fly . I whipped up some of them for muskie. Smoked some big ones in the Chemung on them .

http://troutster.com/the-coaster-brook-trout-of-the-great-lakes/ Found an article on brook trout from great lakes .. they are called coasters.

I remember reading years ago that there were large brook trout that use to be in great lakes and ran in the fall up the tribs to spawn .

I think it was Carmens that had sea run brookies . I use to know a guy years ago that bragged about the great fishing down there. They are all spring creeks and reservoir . There is a hatchery down there and they get stocked pretty heavy. Not sure about hatches but most spring creeks have scuds watercress bugs . Good luck .. looking forward to a report.

I dont dwell on the final resting place I remember the good times .. the special moments . It's a matter of honoring the people that made me what and who I am today .

Went to cemetery yesterday cleaned around my grandparents headstones. Each got new flowers and a flag . Between my wife and I we hit 4 cemeteries in 2 states and 2 counties . Do it every year ... spring and fall. It is a shame so many unattended graves these days . Give thanks ! Remember those that gave all.

Awesome congrats..

If your fishing water with brookies, browns, and bows. Next to impossible to predict size of fish or species of trout by take . Green drake time should start in the next week or so on the beaverkill.... I'm probably heading down to Roscoe next weekend . Break out the size 8 white wulffs.

Just tilled in a 16 foot dump trailer full of composted horse manure in the garden . Still wet . Has to dry some more before I can bed and plant . Looks like a wet week ahead . Might be a late start to my garden.

First if you use a loop to loop connection its seconds to change a leader. I start out with 2x or 4x leader . If I need to stiffen up a leader I cut off 2 or 3 feet of leader . Go up a size x with tippet material adjust tippet up . Takes a couple minutes .
-
Lots of times to use a stimulator . First is it wont spin your leader if you use the right leader/ tippit . A larger fly will require a larger stiffer leader matched with tippet . Stimulator will pass for large stonefly... grass hoppers .I use it like a hopper dropper rig . I use stimulators as a prospecting fly when nothing is on the water. Land that sucker with a splat on the water sometime draws a reactionary strike . Sometimes when theres a heavey hatch its hard to get a trout to take your fly because there is so many bugs on the water. A big ugly is the big meatball on a plate of pasta.

Had I caught that fish on a fly rod I would have put it on the wall.
