I have a super blackhawk in 41 mag that needs some love to . Those are my woods guns . If I'm hunting fields I have a contender in 357max or encore in 308.

Well have to report the good and the bad. Fished yesterday daybreak to noon . Threw everything I had and only one bump on an Ontario trib. 4 in my group and no joy for the day. Had great time socializing. Shared some Irish coffee. Drive home was entertaining down 63 from Batavia to Geneseo. People really dont know how to drive in snow.

Congrats.... taking a deer from field to fork is a thing of pride for my family. I was taught by my gramps . I have taught my wife ,boys, and many of my friends. Some people wont do it but I think they miss out on a very important part of the hunting experience. It use to be kind of a party thing ... fresh back straps on the grill.. music playing a group of guys hanging out and getting it done .

Rob good luck with it I have been all over just looking for warm hunting clothes for wife . Sent an entire she safari suit back a few years ago . She said it didn't fit a woman .. it was made for a girl that hasn't had 3 kids .... I have to be honest .... I like the way she filled out the top... but it was pretty snug. I purchased the thermacell foot heaters . She wasn't impressed. They went back. Looks like it's going to be a shooting house next year.

Guess I could trade her 1100 and 243 for a new gun for me .... lol

I asked the wife today if she was hunting next weekend . She said no . She has no interest in being cold . She doesn't like being out in the woods with the bears. She understands they are more afraid of her than she of them . Kind of a gut punch. She hasn't hunted the last 2 years. But this is the first flat out no. I asked her if I built her a shoot house with a heater would she go . I got maybe. Dont knowing it's worth building a house for her or not . After 30 years i dont really want to traid her in. She has shot 3 deer . She likes being in the woods and watching critters . Guess I will look at building a shoot house . I guess even if she doesn't use it I could during bad weather.

I told them I required a phone call.. and I would bring my dog up and track for them . Other than that they were not allowed on there. No walking the dog ... berry picking ... not even turning around in my clearing . For that I forgave them tapping my maple trees on the border... allowed them the use of the 4 wheeler path , they cut on me, around the big dead oak . But by no means are they to hunt. After posting the wife came out screaming that I was off on the line .The neighbor and I walked the poster line with my gsp. I showed him the marker posts . He was amazed where the line really was . She was angry to see a posted sign 50 feet from her kitchen window. I reminded him that I didn't build the house that close to the property line .

Update on the bears . I think they were hunting deer . They stuck around and kept running back and forth for almost 4 hrs . Every time I had deer race by me a bear would show up shortly after. My buddy's stand was 400 yds from me and he got this pic. No bears were shot . Neither one of us wanted to kill one lol.

Deer are pretty easy to kill. As far as factory ammo these shoot best.out of my 3 handguns in 44 mag. These are pretty hot . I dont shoot them much as I prefer to roll my own these days. I am currently looking for a mold to cast hollow points in the 250 grain area .

I have seen 4 different bears today. Dont understand little ones being run off . I'm no bear expert. They breed in the spring I thought.
