Any changes in plans for deer season this year?
Lomax replied to Robhuntandfish's topic in Deer Hunting
What’s in a case? I don’t know what gold or silver is bringing But I bought some tungsten turkey loads that set me back quite a bit today cannot believe the price of tungsten for 5 rounds 48 bux jeez Louise it’s like the price of gas hang onto your wallets There’s a new sheriff in town and the price of gas and bullets just went up and during a pandemic how convenient -

I will plead guilty as charged I have become a condo hunter. I’ll admit it’s not for everyone but it’s for me and I can see you in a heated blind Rob kinda like your winter boat BTW with a nice jump in real estate prices I am taking bids for condo add-ons to the Buckform as weekly rental rates in November have skyrocketed so taking all comers Ha Oh and Still also offering off-season rental rates for turkey coyotes and love shack getaways with that special someone or side piece you’re trying to keep quiet. -
Stopped at Bass Pro in Auburn and they had the vortex venom A holosun and the trijicon rmr But they didn’t have the Leuopold deltaPoint reflex sight I wanted to check out. It’s looking like Amazon is going to get my business even though bass pro says they have they have good stock When they don’t they had very little ammo which is been the case for the past couple of months It’s easier to get stuff online than it is in some of these big box stores oh well learning to change expectations

Cool story and memories I’ll bet -
Got out this afternoon for a nice walk and checked cameras. Blew a few deer off the plots Not seeing any racks in past couple of weeks. Think most have shed like this one.
-
Just got back in from shooting yeah with the fiber optic sights worked great deadly accurate but still leaning towards that browning Delta point sight as it’s a Browning shotgun as well seems like they would be a good fit but the vortex venom is a little cheaper so reading up on the reviews does the trijicon not use batteries? What is it the power source
-
@Buckmaster7600 I’ve been looking at different sights for the past couple days. I am guessing this is the one you’re talking about looks like a real good one what MOA did you go with for turkey?
-
Thanks guys @DirtTime do you like the round scope type is it bulky on top of the gun as it seems a bit bigger than say the vortex strike force or venom. The gun came with A good set of fiber optic sights does your scope allow you to see through the bottom to use them if the scope is not working or did you pull them right off the gun if you had them. I would prefer to leave mine on @Rack Attackwas looking at the Vortex Strike force and venom as they are lower profile did you get a 3MO a or a 6MO a dot. As far as turkey goes unfamiliar with waffle blinders if you can please post a pic of them. Have you ever used the red dot scope to go waterfowling or pheasant small game hunting with gather it would work for all? @G-Mani gather it’s not to different to make adjustments to the dot out to 50+yds or say similar to regular scope.? Guessing after bore sighting it shouldn’t take but a few shots to get dot on POI at 50. 12 ga only thing I have to figure out now is how much different the 3 inch tungsten loads will hit versus the sighting in vs Winchester super X turkey shells. The tungsten ones are expensive to sight in May have to bite the bullet

So looking at red dot scope’s for a new gun and have never had one or used one or have experience with one doing some research but would appreciate anybody’s opinion on them specifically what works best for a Turkeys gun set up. Would appreciate any advice or info

WTH with this gun law ????
Lomax replied to luberhill's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
I bought a new gun thru Gunbroker last week and picked it up from The FFL designee yesterday he had me fill out a paper background check application and told me to spell out my first name my middle name and my last name which I did He took a copy of my drivers license which has my middle initial but not my full middle name spelled out he told me yesterday was the last day that they were allowed to put paper Background check applications through starting today everything has to be done digitally. Perhaps this is why some places are doing it one way and others may be doing it another way either way I was pretty please with a gun broker.com pretty slick process good price and got what I wanted without too much hassle -
Spent a few nights in the parking lot at Oak Orchard Waterport Dam in the early nineties and quite a few nights asleep in the vehicle at the various pools of the Salmon River in Pulaski and Altmar. Remember waking up once freezing in Naples for opening day of trout. Had some good times doing that when I was younger but haven’t done it in over 15 yrs. Never spent a night in the truck to go hunting as I always had spots close by to hit up with gun or bow.

Stepping up the food plot game!
Lomax replied to Geno C's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
Very interested in this I have 25 hp tractor and want something just like that as I have been hand planting corn beans and food plots. Have been doing some research and searching for units most are fairly expensive but these are so versatile and much more efficient. Believe you’re gonna like having it should be fun planting this spring and summer with it. Please post up when you use it that would be cool to see if you don’t mind -
Perhaps you could brand it Aunt Jemowin. Kinda catchy don’t you think ha Seriously can’t wait to see more it looks like a ton of work but my guess is very fulfilling. Final product is gonna be Sweet!

Buddy sent me this one.....same deer or different....pics are one night apart. Time to look for sheds!

Look for rookie cards for players like Derek Jeter Barry Bonds Arod Ken Griffey Jr. Albert Puljos Rickey Henderson Mark Maguire Randy Johnson the pre rookies or rookie cards are typically the money ones. error cards can be worth a ton but u really have to know them to find them. good luck and let us know if you hit any Homeruns on this find.
