TeeBugg
Ok so ive got a slight dilemma.... ive been hunting a certain area for years now. Along with myself, two other friends and my father have also hunted it way before i even started hunting. They had always told me who owned it but that was moons ago and i dont remember the guys name. But now im being told it may be state land. Although i dont see any state land signs...i no longer communicate with the two friends or my father, although we all still hunt the area, so asking them the guys name is outta the question. Is there a resource or maybe even DEC that can tell me who? It gets better. I went down today to just do some scouting and was completely disgusted. Right smack dab in my hot spot...is hundreds of used small propane tanks. It looks like someone is actually out there using them as some looked brand new. Litter everywhere and you can tell its been there awhile. Now im not blind and have seen a guy out there who i beleive is a vagrant. In the same spot as all the tanks. He actually came up to my turkey decoys last year and started a conversation....with my decoys. So not everything is right upstairs. What should i do? growalot
Go to the towns clerk...give the addresses on either side and across the street of property and they should be able to pin point it.....

covert
Yep, County tax map. Some Counties have it online if you go to the County website. Probably a methhead. The propane guy, not the owner. Well, I suppose the owner could be too.

HectorBuckBuster
If you found the tax maps, just find the parcel number, and then put that is the county clerks website if they list the tax parcels. What county is it for?
TeeBugg
Wayne county. Im lookn thru all the parcels to see if i can find a number. Unfortunately i cant find one big map lol

HectorBuckBuster
Opps sorry about that.Ok, here is the right one for Wayne County NY. http://www.co.wayne.ny.us/RPT-TaxSearch/

nyslowhand
Each property is labeled with a 6 digit property ID number (xxxxxx) on the Wayne County website's tax map listed above. What isn't shown is the specific area numbers. As an example; 69119-00-xxxxxx. Knowing that prefix number & specific property #, you can search the tax rolls for the property owner & their contact info. Place to start!! Also betting owner doesn't know about the squater. phade
You can search the wayne site. Super easy. Takes five min. Cross reference the parcel number or search the road ont the site and itll list the parcel number. Click on that and you have your info. Zero need to even go to the clerk or call. ants
Hell, just contact DEC and explain whats going on and tell them about the meth head. At this time of year they should be able to devote a little time to it. They will easily find out who owns the property and I'm sure they would be interested in the meth deal. TeeBugg
Found what u were talking about. Still no info :/ Edited March 17, 2013 by TeeBugg
nyslowhand
Once you get to the specific property, click on the tax ID # and it takes you to the property's details. Then click on the "Owner" tab and it gives you the specifics of who owns that property. Their address is given, with that you may be able to google their name for a phone#. Wasn't real comfortable when I did this inquiry for an adjoining property, kind of felt "creepy" or stalker-ish. Did get me info I needed. phade
Almost every search in the Wayne Co. site shows a name...I bet 99/100 will reveal the name, address, and phone number. Wayne's site is antiquated as compared to more modern versions, BUT, it is very factual and provides more data than most others.
