Predicted rut dates

Found an interesting article on Alzheimers prediction calendar and what other experts think. Apparently does breed on Nov 15 each yr plus or minus a day. Or if the calendar is correct, we are looking at a late rut. Who knows..

I am truly a believer in alshimers predictions for the last for years. I think he hits it pretty close every year.

I've found from my own experience that the rut's tied a little more to sunrise then moon phase... I don't totally discount his predictions. I just also don't follow them religiously.

I also think the rut will be a touch late this year.I took the week of the 11th -15th off hoping to arrow a beauty

I think the rut is spread out from Oct 25th to January. Last season I saw several mature bucks with a doe on Oct 27 and Nov 3rd.  It was a wild scene both times.

This was when Alsheimer predicted the most activity for last season... I didn't see as much activity then as I'd hoped but Sandy came blowing in right in the middle of it.

 

I'm banking on the very end of bow season/ beginning of gun being the hot time...

Zone 3S - trying to take a week off work to hunt the rut. What would folks prefer if given the choice? 11/2-11/10 or 11/9-11/17?

I think next week things are going to crank up. Cold weather coming on the backside of the new moon. Should be some great pre rut activity on the way.

11/9 11/17 would be my first choice.
