Blackhorn209 powder

Anyone have any experience with the blackhorn209 powder? Good or bad. What are you guys using to measure it?

It's an awesome powder, if you can find it.  I just went back to Triple Se7en FFg because I can't find BH209.  I just use a regular black powder measure.

I only use it.  I get it by the 5 pound container out of the carolinas.  It measure by volume same as any substitute.

A real good powder . Burns clean and leaves no fouling to speak of. Can clean up with regular gun cleaner solvents. Have to use shotgun 209 primers with it, not black-powder 209 primers. Only real down side with it is most dealers don't carry it and only comes in 10 oz. bottles instead of full pounders. Accuracy is good with it. You measure it out like any other black-powder.

Rarely do I support a product full-fledged. BH209 is one of them, best on the market imo.

I use it and love it. Make sure to use the right primers, as has been mentioned.

Heard nothing but great things about this powder, Need to find some for my CVA optima Pro. triple 7 is what I am using now. cant find a good sabot/powder combo for a good moa at 100 yds

After calling around without any luck, I ended up ordering some from cabelas. I had to pay a extra $20 for hazardous shipping. I hope this stuff is all it's supposed to be.

Order it from a guy called Carlos from Eds gun shop in north Carolina. He can waive the hazmat fee, you can't by it any cheaper anyplace .

I've started using a weighing it to get more precise loads... but volume measuring is fine..  I love the stuff by the way...

100 grains by volume is 70 by weight.  there is a table on theor website that has all the weight to volume.  www.blackhorn209.com

Im sorry. At work. Cant remember tge weight. But thinking it was just under 80 grains.

it's been a while but I think don lurr sent me everything I needed to know to use it in my Prohunter.  If I could find it around here I wouldn't hesitate to use it over anything else.

Blackhorn 209 is a great black powder substitute. I used Pyrodex pellets in my T/C in the past and could hardly load a second or third round without cleaning. Blackhorn 209 shots like black powder but does not foul like blackpowder. It cleans easily with water or conventional solvents. The price I paid this past spring was $32.00 for a 10 Oz container. The powder is extremely light so the weight of the container is misleading- You actually get more loads from that container than other powders.
