T/C Encore center fire accuracy

Does anyone have experience with a Thompson Center Encore with a center fire rifle barrel? I'm wondering how accurate they are. I was thinking about buying a frame and then buying a new barrel and wood.

I have a 308 win pistol barrel. Sub MOA and a 223 rifle barrel Sub MOA. I am hand loading for both. I never fired factory ammo out of the 308 and the cheap FMJ ammo I put through the 223 didn't do so well.

I have had 5 different rifle BBL's  a on one of the original Encores , long ago forgot what they were but I hit everything I aimed at.presently have the 410/ 45L Colt, shoots good also.

They are pretty accurate. I have 2 frames and barrels 7-08, 35 rem, 22-250, 45 win mag, .256 win mag. The only issue is they are a little sensitive to forend pressure.

My encore with 300 win mag barrel shoots right around  1" groups @ 100 yds with 150 gr Remington core lock factory ammo. 2" groups with my muzzleloader barrel on.

I love my T/C Pro Hunter.... All the barrels shoot well... Took a Gemsbok at 309 yds with the 30-06 barrel... so for hunting, they are accurate for sure..

I had a Encore in 280 that was flat out stupid accurate.....have no flipping idea why I ever sold that gun!!

I have a .308 encore handgun that shoots sub moa with 150 grain Remington Core-Lokt ammo, absolute tack driver.  I have shot Military FMJ and it does well just not as good, good to plink with.  You are probably thinking plinking with a .308 handgun is nuts but it is my go to range gun.  I have so much fun with it and so does everyone else who shoots it, even non handgunners.

I had a 30-06 handgun and found it to be way to much,have you ever shot the 30-06 to compare it to the 308?

No I have not.  The ballistics are very similar, velocity is almost identical and the 30-06 has maybe 150 ftlbs energy more.  I would imagine it would not be too different.  Don't think that the .308 is a pussycat but I do enjoy shooting it.  Any given time I go to the range I will fire a minimum of 20 rounds if I am shooting something else, if that is all I bring I shoot close to 60 rounds.
