taly35
Looking to buy a inexpensive Shotgun 12G slug barrel and a center rim Rifle .270 or whatever. Please post pictures and price I will get back to you asap.
Lawdwaz
Do you have an FFL in mind to handle the transfer? If so getting a price prior to the deal could save some hassle. I have a camo'd 12ga Remington Express with a short turkey barrel on it. Not exactly what you're looking for though.

jjb4900
There is no shortage of gun owners who are clueless about the Safe Act...which leads me to believe there will not be that many people thinking about it when they go to vote this November.
taly35
That is what I mean a "Background check". But any ways does anyone have a shotgun or a rifle for sale?
philoshop
Remington 870 express magnum w/ cantilever scope mount and Simmons whitetail 1.5 - 6? Excellent condition and a proven deer-getter. Not sure of a fair price off the top of my head. Let me know if you're interested.
jjb4900
it's been a while since I've purchased a firearm, but I'm pretty sure a background check isn't something you do ahead of time and are issued a certificate for, from what I remember, it's done at the time of sale and is only good for that sale.............. Culvercreek hunt club
yeah, think I'd pass on setting up a private sale to a total stranger.... If done correctly, why would you hesitate?
jjb4900
If done correctly, why would you hesitate? "if done correctly".....that's the key, I'm sure there's plenty of people out there willing to bypass a few of the rules in order to make a sale, I would suggest using caution these days. WNYBuckHunter
Doing it correctly is pretty simple. Agree to price, meet at a FFL, sign one paper and collect your money. If you are the buyer, you paay the seller then pay for your background check and walk out with your gun. More of a pain than it used to be but not horribly difficult.

WNYBuckHunter
I have done it. The fee depends on the FFL. Jackson in Henrietta is $
Lawdwaz
I did one also, in Lakeville. Similar charge. IMO it is really discouraging people from selling/buying used guns and in turn sucks.
philoshop
Written into the SAFE act under 'private sales', the FFL is not supposed to charge more than $10 for a private transfer. On dealer to dealer transfers they can charge whatever they want, and it's usually in the $25 to $35 range. They can also refuse to participate in the transfer/sale. I haven't done a private sale under the new restrictions yet, but I'm guessing that a lot of FFL's won't want to bother with the paperwork for the 10 bucks. Maybe a $20 'tip' up front would help? Seems to me like just another way to limit gun sales/transfers overall. Edited March 16, 2014 by philoshop

It isn't rocket science. Making it sound like a big hassle that is difficult to do doesn't help anyone.
