Mr VJP
Doesn't affect all 700's and 7's, but it does affect a lot of them. http://www.thetacticalwire.com/story/316460

silent death
Just received a email from them saying it can take up to 6 months to get back my rifle. Nope I'll pass. I am just gonna order a timney trigger for 127$ and be happy. My gunsmith can have it installed in no time Edited April 17, 2014 by FUAC
ants
Luckily both my 700's miss the recall. Good thing. These mass recalls can take for ever. I have two friends who sent back Springfield -S's (for recall work) back in Aug. & Sept & they still haven't gotten them back.
Doc
Checked my serial number and apparently my 700 is ok. Thanks for the heads-up.

jim335
Has anyone received the shipping box from Remington yet? My son was on hold on the phone forever, he just hung up and did it on line. Got message he would get the box and tags, but hasn't seen anything yet.
WNYBuckHunter
Ugh, mine is in the recall. I submitted the form last night. Waiting for the stuff.
WNYBuckHunter
So looking at triggers, nothing is in stock at this point. Every Timney with a safety included is backordered. The Shilens are in stock, but you need an aftermarket safety for them, and those are backordered. I cant wait 6 months to get my rifle back. Elmo
I submitted my back on Thursday. It's only a couple of business days so I'm still waiting for the box.
WNYBuckHunter
Ive heard more reports of the process taking months to get your gun back. Im just looking for a new trigger at this point.
MACHINIST
Smart move.I am pulling my 700 out and checking this weekend.I am also crossing my fingers that its not one of them.
Terry
I have been a dyed in the wool Remington fan for years, but I am quickly losing faith in them. Their quality control seems to have gone way down hill.
MACHINIST
Yup,I love my Remington 700 in 308 but I don't think I would buy a new one from them.
Terry
Its sad really. Last gun I bought was a Ruger. I really want to get my son an 870, but I might go Browning BPS
Elmo
My fear is that everyone is now going to jump on the aftermarket triggers and they'll be backorder for a while as well.
WNYBuckHunter
My fear is that everyone is now going to jump on the aftermarket triggers and they'll be backorder for a while as well. Its already happened. I cant find a complete setup anywhere.
phade
Crap. I need to look mine up. Hasn't even been shot yet.
WNYBuckHunter
Well, I just found one, available straight through Timney. The nice part of ordering through them is you can select your trigger weight.
jim335
Just an FYI. My son received the box on Monday. Received an e-mail with the shipping tags to print off. So we'll see how long this is going to take.
Elmo
I sent mine in last week. I called them to confirm the process. I asked the lady what the estimate turn-around time would be. She said that they are mindful of hunting season but military and law enforcement comes first so she can't guarantee me any thing. Looks like I'll be bow hunting only or using the muzzleloader this year.
silent death
9-14 month wait... thats why i installed a timney ...screw that mess of waiting after spending a chunk of money on a rifle.. Edited June 11, 2014 by H4W
dbHunterNY
Only Remington I've got is a 742 woodsmaster. If they throw out a recall on that they would be opening up a very old can of worms and have people scratching heads Haha good luck all. Hope the turn around is quick.
