LMAO- I've been sitting under the same roosted gobbler 3 days in a row now and I can't get him to crack.

I've been following him since week 2.

He runs from any calls.., I follow him for miles.., I get set up this morning at 3:30am... he gobbles non stop till 11am.., he has several hens

Every time I think I got his patterns figured out, he changes things up.

If this doesn't work, I may just climb into his roost tree and wring his neck while he sleeps, lol

The deke looks awesome, I guess. :fie:

Seriously, you should (maybe you have?) not even go after that gobbler at all until 11;00am  Sleep in; take the significant other to breakfast, work   or some other constructive thing.  Don't even THINK about going in, hunt someplace else.  THEN, hammer the SOB  just before quiting time.  It's worked for me................. :good:

Good luck Wooly...

Get in early, get in close, and get Turkenstein set up where he'll see it...

Don't even touch your calls...

I hope to see the pictures of that bad boy tomorrow with holes in his beak....

Ahhhhhh, differing opinions.

That's ok, there's enough days left to try both methods......AGAIN!

I've showed him everything I got to this point, besides Turkenstein.

I guess some birds live to see another Thanksgiving unless something makes them do something goofy or something goofy makes them do something different.

that deke looks too real, it will definitely get shot at, you better set up very defensively. just a suggestion... try taking a partner, sneak in early as usual but have your hunting partner come in on the opposite side of the bird, just a little later than you, then have him/her do the only calling, if that bird constantly goes the other way from calls,  your  bird should  pitch down in your lap. but as we all know he will probably out smart us again.LOL

I know what the problem is here, that tom is homosexual.Think about it.Runs from hen calling, has his little group of hens and stays in bed way late into the day.Throw a few gobbles at him and see what happens with that deke and I bet he runs in!!

I haven't tried this one yet.

Add a little hoop ear ring to its right ear and it might just work !! lol!

That's funny!

His wings are held on with a sharpened metal rod through his chest... kinda like a nipple ring if that counts!

Just need to figure out how to gobble with a lisp now,lol

This is something that has worked for me in the past on difficult birds..  My partner and I used it just this year in Ontario and it worked  in theory EXCEPT the gobbler came past the shooter (me) just a little bit beyond my comfortable shooting range.

Another ploy that has worked on birds that would approach a caller and then always hang up 60 or 70 yards out....Put the shooter 50 yards or so ahead of the caller..

I realize that would not work on a bird that will not respond to calling, but it has been the end of a few difficult gobblers over the years.

BTW wooly hows the tail held on?

It's zip tied (bread bag twist ties) to an arrow and I poked a hole in the decoys tail for the shaft to slide through. The fan itself is just super glued to a small piece of cardboard. It was never intended to be weather resistant, but it will do for now.

The tail is adjustable on the shaft so I don't have to force the shaft into the ground any further than it wants to go. It pivots on the shaft in the wind too for a little bonus motion affect.

Only question that remains to be answered is...."will it work?" :dontknow:
