NFA-ADK
I am trying to get one of my friends son into hunting. His younger brother is ready but he is at that stage in life where he is not so sure. He has the interest so I am trying not to push hard. Many other people tell him hunting and guns are bad especially in school. Hoping his brothers future success will reign him in and win him over to the joy of the outdoors. phade
Good article. One of the things that is not often mentioned is letting the child choose his or her adventure. Instead of scouting and picking out THE blind setup. Scout and pick a few for the right conditions and let the child choose where to sit from that option list. It let's them be responsible for making decisions (while you did the work to be succesful), and kids like to be involved. As time goes on, you can ask them why they chose spot #3, etc. and start discussions about it from there.
