First-light
Most of my deer over in 8P are all like that. Battle scares for sure!

philoshop
Hard to tell without seeing a closeup of the base: broken, deformed, etc.
132 eight pointer
I found a 4 pt. side of antlers snapped off on an angle near the base in a clearing with no trees during bow season many years ago.Had to be from a fight with another buck and was so fresh that the center of the antler was not dried out.I still have it. chiefbkt
It's tough to tell from that angle, would be nice to see if it's broke off at the base or if it just never grew. He's a young deer that's for sure. I guess if you saw him and noticed he was limping or walked oddly you could probably assume a car hit him. I personally would let him walk if he didn't appear to have anything ailing him...he could be a super nice buck next year. His frame is pretty stout.
wheelieman
After watching 3 fights yesterday morning and seeing the busted up racks of those bucks, id say probably a fight,
growalot
Well I have to say I sat in the dark and heard some rip roaring nasty fights happen...I wouldn't shoot a half rack especially one with 5 on the one rack left....I would hope he'd make it until next year...but as you see in a couple of pics...it's a little hard to see at first glance he is only carrying one side...pretty sure he won't survive the gun season walking by someone broad side..... nyantler
Could be anything from a buck fight to a car accident... injury early on could be... or some kind of pedicle damage... hard tellin', not knowin'

landtracdeerhunter
Could be an early drop from a stressed deer. More common in firearms season though.
