looks like we just may get that inch of snow they called for...I was hoping they would be wrong. The cold front coming in isn't something I'm looking forward to. What will this do to the maple harvest...if temps stay real cold through Feb. into March?

I have to say though...this is the first winter in a veryyyyyyy long time I have seen farmers actually plowing fields in February! I just past a huge tractor yesterday taking a test run across a cut corn field...interesting...

Now if farmers have been able to get a head start on dryer fields...and we go into a warmer spring with drier fields due to less snow....What will that do the the crop/fall harvest/deer hunting? Even spring turkey hunting?

IE: When spring crops go in and come out...earlier than normal corn cuts? later than normal  winter grain plantings..triple cropping?? Some of you guys will have to think of changing strategies or have back up plans well in advance... ;)

The big thing that has kept the snow at bay has been the warm temperatures. Well, I saw a forecast for this weekend where the high on Saturday is supposed to be 5 degrees. So likely Erie and Ontario will get to cranking out the lake effect snow. Maybe we are going to have winter begin. That would be too bad. I really have taken a liking to this global warming thing here in the northeast.....lol.
