philoshop
I take my mom and my aunt to visit my grandfather's grave every Memorial Day. He managed to survive voluntary service in WWI, otherwise we wouldn't be here. He arrived here on his own from Italy at the age of 12 and enlisted at the age of 17 so that he could go back and fight against the oppression he had left. His idea of a 'safe space' was vastly different from that of today's culture. He died in 1972, and I'm just thankful I got to know him a little bit. God bless the patriots.
