Light rain

I have noticed that it can lessen the power of my cologne no matter how much I spray on pre-rain.  That's why I always carry a travel bottle with me to the stand to replenish when hunting in the rain.  Deer love Tommy Bahamas original.  Just a little tip.

Sorry, being a smart a$$.

If you do all you can to keep the wind in your face and your scent downwind of where you expect deer. You could kill a deer soaked in a bottle of Tommy Bahama's! Rain or anything else will not "wash" the human scent so that a deer cannot smell you downwind! Sure there are things you can do to reduce the amount of scent that comes off of you. But there is nothing that you can buy or do that will keep a deer from smelling you.

Growalot n Dbhunter imo have it exactly right. A wet dog is one of my thoughts, another is the Polock I work w who doesn't wear deodorant, he smells worse on damp days, another is turning a beagle loose, in dry woods they normally work to find one n run it flawlessly when it's misting or woods are damp. As a kid I was always told rain washed away odors, heavy rain may but I take no chances.

Wet woods are no good imo in keeping scent down.

I agree too w the hunting the wind, I've shot many deer, even some up close in quick hunts after work or skinnimg, sometimes bear grease on my boots. Wind direction is the name of the game so is being elusive. The deer sure are. Just something to think about after being told so long to be in the woods in the rain. It could just be the amount though. Heavy rain n dogs gotta hustle to stay w scent

I think in something like a light mist or damp conditions a deer can smell a little better.  washing away scent?  idk I try not to leave more than I have to.

That is what I have heard (read)..... moisture and humidity enhance the animal's ability to pick up scent.

No matter what, hunt the wind. I am not any more concerned with scent in wet weather than dry, but the dripping,/ mist does help cover my clumsy maneuvering, and the darker days encourage more movement, as well as the dampness softening footsteps. wet days generally are cooler, which also encourage movement. I will take  wet day hunting over dry any day, and  have allways done much better on them.
