When to start using estrous scents?

Hey all. When do you plan on using estrous scents this year? Have you already? This past weekend, I finally noticed bucks starting to act a little nutty. Saturday morning I saw a small 6 walking at a fast pace with his nose glued to ether ground. He didn't budge when I grunted and bleated at him. Sunday morning (different spot), I saw three does walk by at 100 yards and another big 6 run up to them and start bugging them. I was planning on hanging some estrous scent wicks this weekend? What are your thoughts?

I'd say it's about time. I was really kicking myself yesterday for forgetting to bring my battle bag. Scents are absolutly coming with me tomarrow afternoon.

The bucks are starting to check the doe so I would agree with TurtleFace you can start anytime now.

I hang scent from day one. I had a 7 pointer run right up to it 2 years ago on October 4th. He didn't get any older. Although I don't use estrous scents, just straight doe urine.

I don't, I have tried a bunch of brands over the years and nothing really seemed to make the difference. My father in law swears he has had deer follow his footprints using the Doc's Double doe but any deer will follow your footprints to figure out what you are.

Scents are something I've never had any luck with.  Like a bleat can though, I keep using them just in case.

Ill probably start this weekend. Ill also be setting up a mock scrape with a licking branch from another property and a scent dripper this weekend.

Dripper has been out for almost 2 weeks on a mock scrape. wouldnt of put it out so early but i new i wasnt going back till this weekend and wanted to see if they would start working it ealier then normal. Find out saturday afternoon.

Absolutely perfect time to use estrous scents.  I'm a big fan.  I've shot 2 buck using them, they literally followed my scent line in from 75 yards. One was shot at 17 yards and the other 10.  They work,  I did spook a few doe and a mature buck one time though. The guy in my avatar pic was the one shot at at 17.

I think this week i will keep using buck urine and rattling. After halloween i will likely use more estrous and my bleat can but also keep the new scrapes i've been seeing fresh with buck scent. Good luck
