This is a terribly morbid reply, but if he's in there, the birds will likely find him this week with the higher temps, unless the coyotes, etc...

This is a sad story.

I'm all thumbs when using Tapatalk

Very morbid , you knew it but still hit reply.

That’s someone’s father , grandfather etc.

Sorry , you hit a nerve as my father is in the hospital right now , incoherent and I may have just seen him for the last time.

um... Rebel's comment is just stating a fact. As hunters we all know how the cold and warm weather will affect bodies.

Are they still searching? You do deer search grampy, did they get you or deer search in to help ( that is not a jab! just a simple question )? You hear about this a lot in the big woods, people get lost, but Thacher?

A Deer Search dog and handler are not trained to look for humans, alive or otherwise. That is up to specially trained dogs, and people in law enforcement, or other agencies.

As you know, our property borders Thatcher Park. My hunting partner and I, have more than one hundred years combined, of boots on the ground, throughout the park, as well as our property. And know it all like the walls of our homes. My partner and I offered our help, but were denied. Before the snow got deep, we did search our property, in places where we thought the hiker could have ended up. But nothing. I will say, the search that went on in the park, for ten days or so was very extensive and thorough. Perhaps there is more to it than law enforcement is letting out? My hope is he will be found at some point.

TF is going through a tough time. We should just leave it at that.

Maybe they will now go back to our property, to clean up the miles of string they left behind, doing the grid searches.

Happy that he was finally found, the poor guy. After thousands of man hours searching from state agencies, over many square miles. The guy was found just off the most popular trail in the park?
