Blue Ridge Mountains

[First-light]

So leaving South Carolina Google maps gave us the option of driving through these mountains. It was a wonderful ride and so beautiful! I want to go back and visit some of the areas along the way.

I recently moved to the north GA mountains. Love the area. AAMOF, the city is Blue Ridge, GA. LOL

I’ve had some deer and turkeys in the yard. No bear yet... but they are around according to folks I talk to. I think the hunting is pretty good although I have not actually participated yet.

I have gone down on Motorcycle to NC, beautiful roads. You should go.

We stayed at Peaks of Otter in VA a few times.  The scenery was great, almost on par with the Adirondacks.  There were lots of whitetail deer around there that would eat apples right out of your hands.  I think the lodge and motel is still run by Delaware North (headquartered in Buffalo NY).  They had taken over ownership just prior to our last stay.   Under the previous ownership, they always had a great, all you can eat, seafood buffet.  I am not sure if that has continued under Delaware North.

I met my brother down there. Nice ride, I wish I had gotten more pictures. I got sick from the heat when I traveled from Asheville to Carry, so the following year I went to NH. Mt Washington Auto road was beautiful. I had perfect weather that day

The Blueridge Parkway, with it's tunnels and mountain Vistas, is among the most beautiful drives in the US.

Lots of wildlife in them thar hills.

I came back to NY from Louisiana through that area on my motorcycle in the 1970's. Spent a couple of days hiking and camping. It's very pretty country.

Not really. I think it's a county south... SW of Ellijay, GA.

Gotcha, we've been to that lake many of times, pretty area. We did some mountain driving up that way and I saw the biggest dang dead snake ive ever seen by the road.
