Seen nothing yet

I've been out 4 times since Oct 1 and have not seen a deer from a stand.  Kicked 7 out one time and saw the same 3 resident does in the food plots but nothing from a stand. Anyone else skunked so far too?

4 hunts only seen deer 1 time , I had 3 at 50-45 yards and my son had one at 10 behind a bush,  His first time out. Not getting to worried yet...

It is just starting to pick up.  Not sure how much time you are spending in stand or how your entry/exit is but they are moving for sure.  Mostly young bucks but prime time is now, it is just getting started!  If you are not seeing anything find the DOE!!!   Been out 3 times and seen 14 first day, 3 when I took out another hunter and had some intrusion by a kid hunting illegally in the park and 9 last Saturday.  Often they where bedded and the fawns alerted the doe.  Getting real good reports of many decent buck taken this past week and its just the start.  Keep at it these are the best times to be in the woods from the 31st on!  Older bucks will also start to prowl as the doe really start to cycle into heat!  Be ready it can happen quick when you least expect it!!!  GOOD LUCK!!!

I did not see a deer during my three sittings.

I saw a lot early October,then it dropped off and i got lucky getting a doe Saturday. I agree that things are really heating up now,so get back out there! All it takes is 10 secs for the season to go from bad to great.

my stand is maybe 200 yards from my father inlaws stand and he hasn't seen a deer and ive seen deer every sit except for 1. last year it was almost opposite. I guess deer just do what deer do

One thing for sure is they can be unpredictable but this is the beginning of prime time, don't give up it is just getting good and the next two weeks plus is prim rut action so get into the woods and enjoy the show and whack a giant!  Best of luck, hope your action starts NOW!!!  This is also a great time to try using scents as a decoy for better action and a possible shot, bucks are scent checking all over and roaming during day light.  Add some calling and the action should heat up!

I’ve seen one spike thus far in nine sittings. NY is getting worse as the years go on. How can we compete with the residents who feed them in their yards? I see deer eating in the yards during the day and not in the woods where they should be. Ugh!

I have been out 4 times and have not seen a deer. Cams showed only 1 buck since Sep and 1 doe in Oct. The deer are not here as in past years.
