WHO EATS DEER THATS BEEN hit by autos.I have eaten some anyone else

I have no problem with it. Meat is meat it doesn't matter how it died. Some people say that road kill is tuff because of the adrenalin but I don't think so.

I used to, but got tired of doing all the butchering and then finding that most of the best cuts of meat are laced with clots.

I don't think i would. Who knows how long the deer has been laying on the side of the road. Now if i hit it then and i know its fresh then yeah maybe i would . . .

i have only because friend seen it hit but wouldn't again because it was a mess

I pulled one off the center of a road once, trying to be a hero because traffic was stopped. The big doe was still kicking a bit. I grabbed the front legs...and slashed my hands. Glass...or sharp plastic was embedded in the legs. So I have always been slow to eat roadkill, thinking there may be glass or tiny pieces of metal driven into the meat.

I might if it was hit in the head/neck and I had seen it happen. If it was hit like they normally are, along the body or in the rear, no way. Not worth my time to pick out the little bit of good meat.

Yep...but been our hits and broken necks...had to have a State trooper come out to finish one thrashing buck...we couldn't get close enough to get it out of the road...it died just as he pulled up...got permit and had some fine eats...over the years we've gotten 3 police tags on deer
