ID on scat loaf

Friend of mine who lives outside of the Ithaca area asked me if I could ID this, something loafed one in her backyard. And she was a bit freaked by what's cruising through. I'm thinking big old neighbor dog, Doesn't look like typical yote scat.

I agree with the buck consensus. I'd guess it's been feeding in the fields on lush greens, which is why it's clumped together.

Consensus seems to be buck, just seems huge and not in pellet form for that.

clumped deer droppings mean softer food like alfalfa,clover,grasses,apples - however it doesn't indicate what sex deer it came from.

( I googled it) .

Definately deer loaf, nothing particularly special about this one. Average size for a mature deer feeding on apples probably.

Actually I was told by an outfitter that a big clumped turd like the one in the picture is from a buck that is in the rut. Some type of hormones running through his body do this. That is what I was told..take it or leave it.
