Daylight pictures?

Going through my trail camera pictures over the last couple years after reading some articles on how bucks tend to keep the same routine every year.  I think it may have been discussed on here before also.

I noticed my most common time to start getting daylight pictures on 2 properties is October 18-22.  Last year alone I had 4 different good bucks on those 2 pieces moving during daylight hours between those days.   Of course I wasn't there those days.

When do you start noticing more daylight pictures of big bucks?

I just looked for the last 2 years. The pics are from 5 different areas with the furthest being about 75 miles apart. I would say from the 18-22 is pretty spot on for here as well. I killed a nice buck on the 20th 2018. But that doesn’t mean I won’t get daylight pics before then. It just seems like that’s when they really get active during the day.

It think the very first does of the year will go into heat around then too. And since it is only one here or there the horny guys have to look hard, everyone wants to be first. Once a bunch of does come in bigger bucks dont have to look, they just go from one to the next. This is for areas with high doe to buck areas.

I will hunt the edges of the rut harder than main part.

A buddy had a buck parade a few years back on Oct 23 i think. One hot doe came by and 4 big bucks filtered through within an hour or so. Generally that would be a good season here to see 4 good bucks.
