airedale
Browning still chambers it in their BAR. A used Remington in 742 or 7400 is another option. Al Edited December 8, 2020 by airedale
DanD
BAR is probably one of your best options. I know they used to make Remington 7400 Woodsman in .243. You could also do an AR build from DPMS, but you might be waiting quite a while to get all the parts you need to assemble.
Foggy Mountain
The first thing that struck me is why do you want a semi? They’re not commonly as accurate. They won’t lock up as tight. They also need shorter type rounds so they feed properly. Most commercial rounds actually are too short because of this so it might not be a concern but you can’t get the most out of a round from a semi. You’d be amazed how accuracy changes even 3-5 thousands of an inch. Mic your hair. It’s about .003 A shorter bullet often yaws into the barrel. Any rifle round is to me anyhow a one shot type weapon. If there was a sensitivity problem a .243 alone should be ok. Not discouraging you just a FYI
phantom
I don't get why they don't make those anymore Remington 7400 Woodsman or something else like it in that price range with a traditional stock .

onlybrowning
I have a couple of the newer Browning BAR Shorttrac rifles in .308. I have always liked the idea of one in .243 as well. My .308’s are every bit as accurate as the Browning bolt guns I have in the same caliber. I can’t speak to other models or brands (besides the AR designs that also are very accurate) but I really like mine for hunting. 3MAlex
Another similar choice that was (still is?) available in 243 is the browning BLR and Henry Long Ranger. Good guns!
