Yo. A near neighbor with a camp in Lorraine.

You may want to look at Dura Sheds. The sheds are stick built to your specifications from their base models on site, and are a dang fine deel. I was considering using a 24x 24 gable roofed 2 story garage modified to a camp front, approx. 12,500 at the time (6 years ago). My neighbor ended up building a 2 bay garage on the same design, and it is very well built. They arent a kit, but for the money, I would have had them build it.

I just built a 12x32. I priced it every way from Sunday. Rough cut was not cheaper than store bought lumber. It is full dimensional in most cases but that can come at a cost. Many times it is wet and not fully dried and it tends to twist like a pretzel if not used right away or stickered with weight on it.

If you go full dimension pay attention to your rough openings. centers to center measurements dont work like you may bee used to.

Speaking of lumber quality, be careful of some of these package deals that come from some of the "big-box" building supply outfits. often they take the opportunity to pass off some of their super low quality lumber.

Years ago the rough cut lumber was cheaper. I think not so anymore . Reason is it costs a lot to mill. These guy's are competing against new technology & massive sized companys. It's hard on the smaller saw mills to compete. In this economy I would look at an area lumber yard for a reccomendation for a good contractor to build it for you. Start with a shell perhaps & go from there. estimates are generaly free.

Good Luck !

I bought 5.5 acres with a new 16 x 20 rough sawn camp with a loft and front porch for $25,000 from Christmas & Associates Land & Camps... I am a builder and couldn't have done one that cheap myself

They also have many other camp packages

the big thing you have to watch with rough cut lumber is local code restrictions because it is not rated lumber. I still use it, you just have to watch out is all.

Yeah, it happened to my buddy wanting to build his garage with rough cut. Code enforcement issue or something. Amish is the way to go for rough cut... guy 3 houses down is amish, and i believe that a 2x6 is like 30 cents a board foot.
