Mangy fox

Found this guy in the front yard recently. At first glance I thought I was a rabbit. Hope he makes it if I can't put him down.

I had a mangy fox lurking around my place a few years ago.

It was a mother that needed some nutrition.

I fed it whole milk and some dog food, till it got back to good health and then it disappeared.

I have a soft spot for Fox.

I hate seeing critters suffering.

Mange is nearly always fatal to foxes...I have seen several that actually had live maggots living under thier skin...

Me too. Nasty disease. 

Nature can be cruel. And will take her course.

Still a dead fox walking .She no doubt passed the mite on to her litter .

The best thing you can do for it.Is kill and bury it,so no other animals get it.

Looks like he's surviving. He contacted mange early in the spring which gave him the best chance for survival. Had he contacted it in the fall he probably wouldn't survive the upcoming winter.
