sbuff
Anyone have cerakote done to a handgun or long gun . Pros/cons May give these local guys a try https://adkcerakote.com/
Gencountyzeek
I puchased a Christensen arms rifle that the action and barrel are cerakoted. I like it so far, been in snow and rain this year. I still wipe it down after hunts and it has stayed in a heated room throughout the season.
Bigfoot 327
I bought a Ruger American Predator with Cerakote finish. It came that way. I topped it off with Leupold scope in Cerakote finish from Elk Country Arms and Ammo. I don't think Leupold sells any with that finish, I think Elk Country sends them out to a licensee. I have had the package for a year, no problems so far.
moog5050
I think it is generally regarded as a very durable finish. If you search for elite bows and cerakote, you will see that they had a major problem with chipping of the finish from their cams a few years ago but I believe the issue was the process used for coating by elite more so than the coating itself. suburbanfarmer
i had a newer Rem Sportsman 1187 start to rust on the receiver. Took it all apart and sent just the receiver to get it cerakoted. No issues since then. Edited December 10, 2021 by suburbanfarmer
onlybrowning
You didn’t ask, but I’ve used Brownell’s Aluma-Hyde with really good results too. Not Cerakote, but a good, easy to apply coating. I like that you could touch it up easily if ever needed as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
sbuff
So really no downside it appears. Cost doesn't seem to bad . Debating on doing my lc9s

Debating on doing my lc9s As for coatings it’s the best around as of now. I have a tube red dot and rings I’m thinking about having done . airedale
Some years ago I picked up a used Savage 24 combo gun and had the barrels done by Gander Mountain when they were in business, I am very pleased with the results. It looks good and I feel protection from weather is far better than traditional blue. So far it has been holding up very well. Al
