  1. Well, this week last year it was in the 70's as march was very warm. My apple trees flowered and then late frosts came and zero apples. Actually the last two years I had no apple production. This March seems to be below average temps and April looks to be the same. Looks like apples will have a better year...Maybe? Let's hope so.

  3. The Senate's repeal of the medical devices tax provision of Obamacare proves that bad laws can be repealed. All it takes is for the court (legislature) to have the principle...and the balls...to stand up to the King. Any/all of our legislators who are sputtering and fuming, but doing nothing to effect a SAFE ACT repeal are just grandstanding! Do not allow yourself to be "smoked"!

  4. I've shot a compound off and on over the years of using a recurve - never really enjoyed it at all like the curve. Don't own one now and when the day comes I can't shooting a hunting weight recurve, I'll go directly to a crossbow. I support the use of any bow in the bow season - even one that didn't exist when the bow season started.

  5. I wont ever put my compound down until the day comes that I physically cant shoot it any longer. Once crossbows are legal Ill pick one up just for something different sometimes.

  7. Aggessors? They have been the biggest aggressors.. they lobbyed against crossbows back in the 90's before there was much interest at all here in NY for the crossbow... they even make it part of their mission statement for the organization... NYB has been not getting along with much of the hunting community for sometime now... if they had their way bowhunting would be the only hunting in NY. They have a corrupt inner workings which much of the membership knows nothing about... which is the reason I have not been a member since the late 90's... back when I was fooled into believing they working in the best interest of the NY bowhunter... there is a reason why they only have a membership of 2000 out of 200,000 ny bow hunters.

  10. There - fixed it for you. The "compromise" you suggest has never been or ever will be put on the table by the handful that run NYB.

  11. this is a big win for the employees of Remington and the town of Ilion and all the small businesses that make a living in that town feeding and clothing those employees, fixing those employees cars, selling them cars and whatever else. It boggles my mind how anyone would not wanna see a NY state manufacture like Remington get an 80 million dollar 10 year gov contract? If the NY safe act is overturned it will be in the courts and that will happen with Remington here or not, i prefer here for the hard working middle class people of that company...

  12. for any man to have the balls to put themselves in the same emotional or physical boat as the woman who actually has to carry the child and give birth is B.S......not the same emotion or bond formed between the two by any stretch of the imagination.

  13. Find a woman that loves YOU enough to bare your child? Your situation should not dictate laws to empower men to make decisions for women. That's just not right, and quite selfish.

  14. I'll tell you what ants...When you can come to me and tell me that you personally have ever carried a fetus in your body and understand all the physical and mental processes the go with doing so...we'll talk about how it should or should not be expressly the woman's decision. Until that point you are just a talking head very detached from the subject at hand.

  15. This is a formal agency study/survey on xbow impact, and nothing to do with compounds, sling shots, javelins, or otherwise. It is what it is. The lack of youth use to me was most concerning. Seems like that is one of the major flagship benefits promised; based on this study, that's not true imo. Interesting stuff though, that's for sure.

  16. I think this number more reflects gun hunters stepping into the archery season, honestly. I believe MI had limited inclusion to a degree before that (I may be wrong, but I believe they had a disability allowance).
