I was looking through the ads on Craigslist last week when I came upon an add from someone looking for wild Turkey eggs. The add stated that this person would give you money and come out and remove the eggs from the wild Turkey nest. While sitting there thinking of what kind of Tool would actually do this I remembered the DEC's TIPP hotline. I went on the website and e mailed them the listing, not really thinking they would do much about it. Imagine my surprise when I got this e mail back from them today: Mr. Phillips, Thank you for your complaint information ref. the subject attempting to purchase turkey eggs via Craigslist. The add has been removed and the subject was also found to be in possession of illegally possessed wild turkeys. Thanks again, ECO P.S. A few years ago I wanted to make sure I'd have a back up in case my battery in the Jeep died at camp. Well, that never happened but if so it would be a long walk down a dirt road to any kind of civilization. I have an interest in solar and installer background so it didn't take long to realize and use the potential of solar energy. Quiet power, reserve power, no noisy genney running or extra fuel required, no fumes. The price of lantern fuel is nutz, & what 6$ for a set of 1lb propane canisters. Then there's ice - what's that have to do with anything - well there's the cost and a few bags of ice will only last so long. The solar system eliminates the ice issue, no more soggy foods, gone is the extra plastic & metal trash. The older I get, I've found the more that bothers me. Anyhow if you got 10 minutes - enjoy.1 point

Smokers cost us roughy 193 billion a year, mean while state and federal taxes bring in about 26 billion. The flood gates to taxing and charging more for insurance for smokers is old news, that all started years ago. The idea that poor people don't smoke any more is also comical, in fact they make up the largest percentage of smokers.1 point

one other thing I'll be doing is spending the next 2 or 3 weeks trying to get my pool up and running so my wife and kids can use it twice, then I close it back up. I spent a few hours on it yesterday and got nowhere. Every time I turn on the filter motor it pops the breaker. What a freaking pain in the A$$. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$1 point

I actually believe the WB is more difficult to tune than say a LD. WB get bad wraps for a variety of reasons and potential reasons. They certainly are a serviceable rest, but to me, it's a starter rest for someone setup by a pro shop that knows what it is doing. People get worried about them freezing, losing bristles, shedding vanes, and tuning issues. The tuning issue is the legit complaint IMO. If set up correctly, they are good to go, but many people run into problems. With rests like the LD, it's elementary.1 point

I had a weak moment... Let me rephrase that.... Nice looking rig, IN SPITE OF the pimpy looking stainless barrel and obnoxious large objective variable scope... Feel better now ?..<<grin>>....1 point

Everybody's taste differs, Joe, and that's a GOOD thing. Many younger guys like yourself like the modern tactical look, while some of us OLD farts prefer more classic firearms with pretty walnut stocks and bright blued finishes. I personally think that the tactical stuff is as ugly as a side order of s**t...<<GRIN>>.... They may be accurate, dependable, and effective, but man, are they YOOO- GLEE !! Life is too short to hunt with an ugly gun.1 point

Agreed on longevity...if you get 3-4 years on low-end game cams...you should be VERY happy. I also believe leaving cams out 365 actually promotes longer product life.1 point

I've got two 55IR's and a 65IR. Three of the most reliable cams I've ever owned. Not even a hickup over the past 3 or 4 seasons running 365. They could all die tomorrow, and I wouldn't have a bad thing to say about them at this point. Longevity is a good selling point to me over all the other features cam manufacturers are trying to pack into these things.1 point

I'll take DICKs Sporting goods over most of the overpriced "professional" stores any day . Some of the little stores think you owe them a living . I periodically shop at the little stores but if I can buy the same thing for a lot less i'm certainly not going to give away my money .1 point

Nice piece. I now bring a 24 foot extension ladder into the woods. It's light weight easy to carry, yep one more trip but much safer ,it has a "v" at the top that fits trees nice. Throw up stand ,climb ladder and work off that. Too many of those that was a close one for my aging bones.1 point

I've had some great stuff made by Uber Leather over the years but they went belly up. I hear tell that they will re-open under a new name soon. http://www.leathermag.com/features/featureuber-tanning-reopen-as-century-leather-products/1 point

went out yesterday, took a youngster, heard 1 bird across the road, couldn't get close without a long walk so I tried to call him across the road. No luck, called in a hen, it was a beautiful day, sorry I couldn't make it happen for this first timer.1 point
