  2. This young one has no fear, even when the lawn mower is running. We were putting gravel down on the road and he wanted to help.

  3. I have been seeing 3 sets of tracks, a 3. in which i believe are from this one. About a 5 in from this bear.. this one shows up in same place every two weeks. the 3rd track is 6.5 inches but i havent been able to get a pic of it i'll get a few more cameras out and try again. The have really stuck in the area this year and am not happy thinking of what they will be doing to my corn later this year if they stay around....

  4. Decided to fish just for musky this yr in the suckyhanna and have come up with a 36 inch northern and Saturday caught a 42in pure bred musky. what a fight. I set the hook and that sucker was out of the water tail walking like a bass. what a rush. on a side note i took my daughter down one day and she landed a 40 in northern which suprised the heck out of both of us. Because she was fishing for carp with a wad of corn. Dont think ill ever fish for anything else. im ruined on them for anything else.

  5. Well after 20 years, decided it was time to rebuild a couple of very productive permanent stands. The rot wasn't to bad but opted for a complete rebuild and increased size. Have a few more permanent to fix (minor repairs) and about 20 more portables to hang. I have a do not enter woods rule for month before the season. so i have under 60 days left... Tis the season!!!

  6. Here are a few grainy still shots from the video footage of a stud of a buck that I came across while driving around doing some deer scouting tonight. He's gotta be one of the widest bucks that I've ever seen on the hoof...can't wait to see what he looks like in another month!!!

  7. Took the T/C Pro Hunter out to test the 338 barrel again before Africa... First round is the one on the right.. second round the one on the left... Went from that to 200 yards shooting pieces of skeet for rounds 3 and 4... Wife watching says "I think you are ready".. LOL

  8. Sounds like fun! I was an avid walleye fisherman for years and at times during early season we would catch more musky than walleye(of course they weren't in season yet). Nothing like a 40" fish jumping out of the water !!

  10. I've caught the same deal a time or two, at the Cicero/Syracuse Gander. Its about $24.99 if you can get it.

  11. He said $20 a brick. A lot worse than it use to be but still worth it too me considering the fun I have plinking with my 10/22. Plus the main reason for me posting this is because I'd much rather the good guys on this forum get to them before any of the scalpers trying to make a buck

  13. I'm going to give the e-cigs a try pretty soon. Several friends have made the switch and are very happy so far regarding smell, cost, convenience, etc. Health-wise, it can't really be any worse than smoking can it? I'm willing to take my chances. (edit) Wooly, as an added incentive I'm going to put all that cig money into a coffee can towards some new photo gear!

  14. I don't even know if I would be able to get a shot off at that thing I'd be so freaked out about that hoof sticking out of it's head.

  19. Land trac is right hg radish is a great option...heres what I do ...because I like to have variety and weed suppression....HR and WR are great for weed suppression...but I want late tubulars so PT include fills that bill...see hard freezes take out any HR bulbs the deer did not get...BTW they stink when rotting...PT will remain late into some times March,,,,Trictical is great...it gives a better quality forge with good protien counts.. It, if planted alone can be planted earlier and produce good fall forage then mowed late to keep growth down...please read link you should get good ideas from it... Also planting dates and depths... http://covercrops.cals.cornell.edu/wheat.php

  20. Welters call them groundhog radish. I plant 7 - 8 lb to the acre. Does the ground a lot of benefit as well as the deer.

  23. I'm not sure we're losing in a big way. I think general culture is pushing towards freedom. Freedom to marry who you want, freedom to express your beliefs etc. I've seen tolerance towards hunting getting better. Although posing in front of Simba is not going to be popular. Deer, turkey, fish etc. have been accepted. African game will always be questionable. I myself do not care for it, but am not going to protest it. The other interesting thing about game farms is that people are hating against animals being raised solely for hunting. Like it's any different than cattle and chicken...
