1985, Putnam County button buck. 20 gauge Ithaca Deerslayer. Sat at the spot for a couple hours and didn't move. I get up to take a leak and three deer come running right at me. With my pants still down I shot one.

Just a heads up. This guy was busted a few years ago for selling venison. It may have been customers meat.

On a serious note, they work. I've had success with grunts, and bleats. Shot a big buck years ago that I would have never got had I not called to him.

They always get a pass from me. Unless of course me or my family needed that meat to live. Just never been that desperate. -

Absolutely not. I used to qualify there when I worked in the city. Only law enforcement personal are allowed on the Rodmans Neck premises. Everyone is checked at the entrance. He must be talking about some place else.

Exactly right. I know a lot of guys that shoot the first buck they see just to shoot something. Then throw the rack in the shed because its not what they really wanted. Shoot any buck that makes you happy, but only 1. Does anybody really NEED to shoot more than 1 buck a season?

Too many, I wish it was 1 buck. That would eliminate a lot of small bucks being killed just because they have another buck tag. But that's a whole other topic. The answer is one regular season buck tag and one archery if you have it.

This is why there are reports of mountain lion sightings. People have no idea what these cats actually look like. Clearly a house cat, Bobcats do not have long tails like that to start.

Gut, skin, quarter and put in large cooler with ice. Simple. Then butcher and package at my convenience. -
