Had this happen to me in Bushwick Brooklyn when I was in my twenties. I still have his gun to this day...and he probably still has a limp. I am always armed, no matter what. I do, however, prefer to be up close, personal and silent so I am more of a knife guy. I have been training almost my entire life for things like this. (hand to hand, weapons, marksmanship) Although, I have been carrying since I was around 17. Brooklyn was a scary place in the 80s. You may look down at me for breaking the law back then, but I can assure I may not be here now if I didn't. The coyotes scare me more than the thugs do!

From what I am told (wife in nursing) it is the elderly and the very young or those with compromised immunity that are most effected. For those with strong immunity, it is like a super nasty cold or a really bad flu, if that makes sense. Just make sure your immune system is super strong...go to the local mall and lick all the door knobs! lol Sorry to be a >$^%. Just trying to make light of a heavy situation.

At the risk of sounding ignorant, what kind of danger do yotes pose to ppl? I have never seen one. Not sure how big they are. I think they are somewhere between a fox and a wolf, is this correct? So here is the scenario...They become confirmed here on the island. I am walking thru the woods in the dark, let's say to my stand...how concerned should I be for my safety? Do I start carrying a pistol while bowhunting? I know that is against the rules but if it comes to self preservation.....

I spend a lot of time with pool upkeep and never have time to go in myself. My oldest son doesn't go in at all. The middle one only sometimes. The youngest son (and his pals) are the one that enjoy the pool, lol. Once they stop using it....
