  1. I think at youth level I would focus on rules and drill play scenarios. Equipment seems less important to me at this level. We are in 8-10 softball and it's hard enough for the kids to remember what base to throw the ball to. I am not sure equipment makes this better.
  2. Nothing special, 45lb sage samick. Blackout hunter x 400's with some muzzy 125's. I haven't been fortunate enough to harvest a deer with it yet, but I'm shooting pie plates out to 25yds. Also cold steel Tim Wells blow dart gun that works great for squirrels and bunnies if you can hit them.
  3. That's a wrap here too! Couple nips every day and 2 tags celebrations! Highly recommend if your looking for high test. Time to get the boat ready.
  4. Yes, I only hunted private on weekends because of the chaos. But this year was pretty quiet in the emerald knecklace of ny public land.
  5. I have heard gobbling almost every day, tagged out and called a big bird in for a friend yesterday. 3/4 of my birds were on public and I think I have had 20+ redheaded birds visible. It is definitely a different kind of season but my best one ever. I owe it to a great wife and lots of work. I take the whole month off and usually get back to life after I fill My second tag. I'm very fortunate, but like Bill I also scout all of April and not with binos and checking fields. I get in the woods and look for sign. I dont crow call and I don't roost birds at night. I just grind for 5 hard weeks if that's what it takes.
  6. Been on the ghillie poncho game for a few years now... so good.
  7. They don't want to take your guns. They know it will never happen. They want you to panic buy guns and ammo for the sales tax revenue.
  8. It depends on some things. Predators have a drive to survive and if they didn't like the set up they would escape and come back the next night. With entrails out I would suspect it's predation
  9. Last warm up they were on fire.
  10. I bring this to the party!
  11. What creepy things do you do that make the cops come to your house?
  12. There 14 pages of posts that were a waste of breath. Told all you doubters
  13. Do you feel like that changes deer movement?
  14. I dont necessarily hunt with them as much as I do scout with them. I agree with this for deer but nothing else.
  15. Stone flies and may flies are in every water system. Colors may very. San Juan worm is killer also, as well as wulley buggers in olive and other natural colors.
  16. There are so many great things I have, bows and guns, cams, clothing, ammo, shoes, backpacks, the list goes on and on. I would have to say that in the last 3 or 4 years scouting has really been a priority and I have been very fortunate in my hunts. I lend much of this success to scouting, So in my world powerful clear binos are number 1! I waS using crappy Wal-Mart tascos and it gave me a headache. My new vortex 12x50s closed the scouting loop for me.
  17. Sounds pretty good. I bring 1 xl hawk climbing stick to make sure no one can steal my cams withoout working for it. I cut some wedges to put behind the cams for a good downward angle. I'm doing main trails just below bedding after turkey season. I moved cams in April for turkeys and tagged out, but usually the last few hunts of the month I'll move them to soaking spots. Now I'll just make sure I move them before July and if they aren't cell cams I'll check them when I go to hunt in early October. It works well for inventory and for that first sit. After that I rely on cell cams and try to stay low presure until it's time to be aggressive. I'll also have them on food sources and major travel corridors. This will be my first year trying food plots( there are many corn piles around my lease that I want to circumvent by making food in the core of my property. I will have cams all over these plots.
  18. And keep the seagulls out of your setup.
  19. That's because Facebook is a giant show off site. Fakebook sucks. Everyone on here is pretty genuine and mostly respectful.
  20. I want everyone to do there own thing. I don't show either anymore... but idc what anyone else does.
  21. I am such a baby sometimes with the drama, I'm too sensitive to you guys picking all the time. Apon reflection you guys are a bunch of funny genuine bastards. We can agree to disagree and that's ok too. P.s. I wouldn't want to shame you all with such a handsome guy holding all of these killer trophies, it would really bring down the mood, and as it is you turkey hunters are dropping like flies in end of week 2 beginning of week 3.
  22. Some times smart birds don't gobble much. Gotta hunt sign and historical movement. It's a different type of hunting but it kills big birds.
  23. I mowed my lawn once so far. I try to avoid mowing like the plague. I tell the neighbors that I'm letting the Timothy go to seed to deal with weeds. Last I mowed 7 times all year.
