One ran into me during spring turkey two seasons ago. I was surprised he didn't smell me at all. At about 75' I had to stand up and wave him off because I didn't want him to get close enough that he would be startled. He just turned around and strolled off in the other direction. I did get some great picts though (albeit from my cell phone camera). The only time I would ever get nervous would be if I ran into cubs. Momma bear never likes that much.

Facts: During President Obama’s administration, crude oil production has risen to levels not seen since May 2002. We also have more oil rigs running right now than ever before. Gas is still going up, because its global. Even if its pumped out here, Exxon or whoever still sells it to the highest bidder. EDIT: My numbers may be a little dated. I was looking at data from Dec 2011. Data from the first half of this year is probably available somewhere, but I'm too lazy to search for it. -
Sorry to hear the news, Doc.

If you're talking about percentages, I highly doubt that. http://taxfoundation...justed-brackets If you're talking about pure dollar amount, then I congratulate them on making more income than they have previously. -

These are also state taxes, not federal. They have nothing to do with who is president. As for gas prices, that is a global issue. Blame the BRIC for wanting to industrialize. One bright spot is that Iraq plans to double its oil output over the next 7 years so that should impact the global price a little. Edit: BRIC = Brazil,Russia,India and China -

I disagree. I think the fact that the next president could have the opportunity to appoint 2 to 3 SCOTUS justices should be at the top. Those Justices will be around way after Romney or Obama are gone. -

It depends on show small the fawns are. If I'm sure they will be fine on their own, I'd take the shot. The mother's will be wanting to get rid of them soon anyway so they can mate again. This assumes I have no meat for the year. If I already have meat in the freezer, I'd probably give her a pass.

I wont have a chance for any of that till next weekend, but I won't have a chance to hunt till the 6th, so it wont matter much.

According to the site, being a resident does not increase your odds of winning, it just decreases the cost of the licenses.

Or you could avoid posting pictures of mineral licks and not give people anything to talk about other than you wanting to sell your land. Sounds easy enough, doesn't it?

Grow, I am willing to discuss and debate most topics. I know my political beliefs are in extreme minority on this site, but I usually keep an even keel no matter what I'm called by other members. That first post is just such obvious fiction and conspiracy theory that it really doesn't merit serious debate. All the "facts" are from unnamed, mystery sources. The theory is so far fetched, as it has been mentioned, it sounds like a bad spy movie. I read all the Obama bashing, and most of it doesn't phase me. I'm not his biggest fan, I'm just more scared of what four years of Romney would do to this country. But when I read crap like this, there just comes a point when you just have to say, "Are you f***'n kidding me?" Really, examine the source: http://blootstellen....egence-network/ http://www.erichufsc...Free-Press.html Do your own 5 minutes of research on Google and come back and tell me if you want to defend this guy. If you post something ridiculous you should be held accountable. People immediately called out Early (myself included) for posting that terrible generalization of the Catholic Church. I don't remember you coming to his aid and calling for a civil discussion. Honestly, I tried my best not to target the OP with my posts. I said the article he posted was bat-sh*t crazy...cause...well...it is.

Honestly, the fact that anyone can actually believe such outrageous, unsubstantiated accusations just makes me sad for our country. That article goes so far beyond the realm of possibility, I almost took it for humor at first glance. I mean, really, the DHS, the Black Panthers, communists, radical "blacks", radical Islamists all working together, hand in hand to bring our country down! Aren't there any other groups we can lump in to this obvious fear mongering campaign? If I were Jewish, I'd feel left out!

That's a great story, but I truly hope its not a once in a lifetime event here in NYC. I'm hoping someday the population will be large enough to support a lottery hunt.

I'm not going to address all the nonsense with no sources or links, but I will make two quick points: BlackHawks over a major city!??! That's crazy! Wait, no its not. At all. Not even remotely rare. I see BlackHawks circling around NYC a couple times a month, at the least. I see Chinooks too. I don't expect to see troops repelling down anytime soon. And the 450 million rounds that DHS purchased is over a 5 year span. "The intensely close co-ordination of seemingly separate entities confirmed the suspicions of many that communist agents had infiltrated major institutions, organizations, and trade unions, and were working together to sabotage America.." OMG, we did not just get confirmed suspicions from unnamed separate entities about communist agents?!?! We're all doomed, and living in the 50s!

Obama's after guns AGAIN

I know that feeling all too well. At least Felonious is true Libertarian. I can respect that, even if we disagree on a lot of issues. Ants is....Ants. I honestly can't wait for the election to be over so most of these political posts will stop appearing. Though if (when) the President wins his bid for reelection, I think I'll make a post, once a month, entitled, "HAZ HE TAKEN UR GUNZ YET?!?!". I'm guessing it is going to be a rather short thread. -
The Tyrant Bloomberg Strikes Again

He is the perfect example of why this country needs massive campaign reform. If you can spend twenty times what the other guys can spend, you can get elected, no matter how much people disagree with you. -

Tag him as liberal all you want for his policies, he is not a Democrat and I know very few Democrats that like him or his policies as a whole. And I know a *lot* of NYC Democrats. In other words, we don't want him either. -

Hold on a second there. This is *NOT* a liberal stance. This is King Bloomberg at work. He ran on the Republican line in 2001 and 2005, and as an independent (on the Republican line again) in 2009. Don't try to lump him in with Democrats because you don't like his policies. He ran (and was elected) as one of you. -

What about the many fast-food type places that offer free refills? How does the law address these places? Can they sell diet soda is cups greater than 16oz? For the record, I think this is a stupid law and I will be surprised if it stands up to its first challenge in court. -

@Ants - In case you missed it: http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/iraq/story/2011-12-15/Iraq-war/51945028/1?loc=interstitialskip @wdswtr - 1) I'm saying that Saddam Hussein had nothing whatsoever to do with the terrorist attacks that happened on 9-11-01. Also, it has been pretty well documented that Iraq never had any real WMDs when we attacked them, and we pretty much knew that before going in. We didn't disarm anyone. 2) I haven't said anything about Iran at all. Going into Iran would be a terrible for our troops and I'm very glad Obama has no desire to do so. The same can't be said about the Republican candidates. 3) I am pretty sure I never called anyone your boyfriend. Supply the quote? 4) Obama is not a Muslim. Honestly, you just seem to regurgitate every cliche, its hardly worth the effort to respond. Are you really this uninformed or are you just trolling?
